This is going to make longer expeditions a lot more fun especially since you can just eat on the go without any reduction in movement speed while stuffing your face. (Tyron, please do not nerf this, I'm begging you)

I think that change might be to make it easier to change those values via mods, and not a change to the world settings themselves. I took a look in all the different configuration settings for a new world, and couldn't find one that adjusts the distance between structures. So I'd say it's an option, but players will still need to do most of the work themselves if they want to change that distance, either by making their own mod or finding one that someone else has made. I could be wrong though.
