Finding where I died

So I picked a bad fight with a ram and found out the hard way that it's faster than me. No biggie, I died, re-spawned and went to track down my death way point. Problem is, there were wolves where I re-spawned, they were faster than me too. Now I lost the death way point that would show me roughly where my items are dropped, and have a new useless one right in the spawn area. Are my items lost forever? I can not find them with memory alone.

not sure what the exact verbage in the logs would be?

you know the day and time of your death, pull up the logs for that time period and check...

(i'm guessing it will either be in the client-main or client-chat logs.  although, client-audit has cords, so that)

It won't be of immediate help, but I use the Player Corpse mod which marks all of your death locations on the map...  very useful, it can get a little embarrassing...

Player corpse is highly recommended from me as well (https://mods.vintagestory.at/playercorpse).

Well, I do, but can't find any reference to player death in them.

Did you find the reference to the respawn? Or the death by wolf? I'm not sure when logs get cleared. Maybe on load?

Don't think logs are gonna help me. Thanks for trying though. I really feel like the mods other people recommended should just be part of the game by now already though. The game should be tough but fair. Dying to wolves placed on top of my spawn area and losing my death way point is unfair.

Called bad luck for a reason, only its REALLY bad luck if your cause of death is "Death by Hounds" within the first 3 seconds ...
