Currently, in the vanilla game, chiseling blocks is very time-consuming; if only there were a tool or function within the chisel itself to copy a chiseled block and paste it onto another block  In this way, on vanilla servers, larger and more detailed constructions would be seen in less time.

The ways I can think of to implement this are the following:

1.-  Place the chisel next to the chiseled block on the crafting table in your inventory.

2.- Add some kind of tool that allows you to copy your chiseled blocks

3.- Copying a block directly from the chisel interface

Adding these features would greatly facilitate the construction and detailing of large buildings. 🙏

I want this, but at the same time I think it would be too easy... it should be in a way that reduce time, not erase it, in a way that does not distort the survival experience

Welcome to the forums! Could probably just require a piece of parchment to make a blueprint so that it's not too easy in survival, but not prohibitively expensive either. The blueprints could be copied and traded with other players, or simply stored in scroll racks for later use.

Brilliant idea. The tradeable aspect on multiplayer would be very cool. Also good use for scroll shelves.

That sounds great! I’d also add some kind of tool for writing or drawing to the blueprint crafting recipe, just to keep the game’s realistic vibe, like when crafting the parts for a windmill.

Could either be a piece of charcoal, or the ink/quill.

The idea of creating blueprints to copy from using parchment and pigments is great to begin with. As for the actual copying itself; just reuse the clay forming mechanic's way of "copying" a layer. Still takes time, still drains chisel durability like crazy, as every voxel is chiseled one after the other (or maybe in steps of 4 at once like clay forming) but reduces the tedium of having to manually chisel the same shape of 1/16 grid custom fence pieces about 100 times (totally not speaking from experience.)

Excellent idea. The existing ownership system could even prevent you from creating blueprints of others' chiseled blocks. It would be a shame if players on public servers started copying each other's statues or the like!
