  1. Other options are Lagless.gg, GTX gaming, shockbyte and a few others. But from my past research HostHavoc had the best value, though they didn't exactly say how much RAM was included which is kind of important if you are running 100+ mods.
  2. Yeah, I should have been asleep last night, my brain wasn't working properly I guess I was thinking it would be made used more than just an axe. Like some combo of axe, saw, chisel or hammer.
  3. No, they shouldn't be wood. If they were, you wouldn't be able to make a shovel till after you reach the copper age. Because you cannot punch trees. And seeing as how the player can dig up dirt by hand, it would be pointless to make shovels a copper age tool.
  4. They disappear because the root has been taken. It's totally natural for them to be gone forever. There is no more root. Its gone.
  5. Typically they are shy and avoid people. But if they are attacked or cornered, they can and will become aggressive. Unprovoked attacks on people are extremely rare and usually only happens if they have been infected with rabies. So as long as we don't get attacked just walking by, then yes it's a perfectly good change. But making deer attack the player just for walking by is a crazy change. Its already happened to me in game. In real life, when I was about 13 years old, I accidentally walked up on an actual full grown Buck with massive antlers. It scared the crap out of me, but he didn't attack me. It stood there for like three seconds looking at me and then ran off. He was about 10 feet away from me for those few seconds. I literally live in the Sequoia National Forest in California. We have mountain lions and bears running around. And I think I've heard of one attack in 25 years. Most wildlife would prefer to avoid rather than attack.
  6. Of course not. But, I really don't understand why people don't use land claims. Its not hard to figure out, and stops 100% of theft. It would be like leaving your car unlocked and running and then complaining when it gets stolen. Half the blame is on the owner.
  7. Good luck trying to get a thief to install the mod of his downfall. Its probably best to just review logs.
  8. It won't spawn in Claystone, Sandstone, Chert, Shale, Conglomerate, Bauxite, Chalk, or Limestone. If you are in an area with those you won't have a happy time
  9. You can always just increase chances tin spawns in world generation settings. I always do. I'm not spending hours looking for it
  10. You could put this on the GitHub issue tracker. They may try to fix it. I've had this happen to me as well. Now I mostly use crocks of food on my travels and pies for an "at home" food, because my inventory usually isn't completely full at home.
  11. I've watched a YouTube video of a guy growing 100 year old blight resistant tomato seeds that were in someone's attic since the 1930's. If they really wanted to add realism, there should be no seed drop at harvest and just make it to where a certain percentage of yield of vegetable or grain needs to be used to make more seeds. That way you'll never have more seeds than you need for the next crop cycle.
  12. Back in 1.19 or 1.20 I was able to grow some pretty big redwoods. They were at least 3/4 the size of generated ones. Did something change since then?
  13. Looks like you're going to be spending a lot of time with a watering can if you continue to play without moveable water sources.
  14. Turn off temporal storms during world creation. You can also do it after you create the world with the command: /worldconfig temporalStorms off Reload the world after you enter the command. Its the only way I know of to get rid of it completely.
  15. No matter what they do, I'd still use chisel tools
  16. If anything I think it's AMD GPUs. Because on my actual gaming PC with a Ryzen 5 5600x and an RTX 3060ti, 16GB system RAM I never had any stutters. Or freeze ups. I also play on an ROG Ally and it will lock up for a few seconds regularly when exploring. And also, while running through the woods, FPS drops to around 22 or so, from a solid 30 while in a field.
  17. They probably know people just don't want to watch vintage story videos. Even the most popular VS creators are regularly under 10k views per video. And I'm talking about people who built their channels on VS. Yeah, you have the occasional videos that reach much, much higher numbers. But those are usually YouTubers with established audiences from other games. Not people who made their channels from VS. Maybe it's because much like actually playing the game, any let's play series takes forever to actually get anything done. The game has been shot in the foot when it comes to today's audiences. There is no attention span anymore. They want instant gratification. I bought a copy of this game for my niece like a year ago. She loved it for all of about two days. After things weren't progressing fast enough she didn't want to play anymore. She just went back to playing 7 days to die and Minecraft. Haven't been able to get her to play since. I really feel VS's days are numbered. Where as Minecraft will endure for decades into the future because those players now will introduce Minecraft to their kids when they grow up.
  18. I used to have weaker PC and the only time I notice any stutters or freeze ups is while using certain mods. Better ruins for instance will literally freeze up the computer for a few seconds while a large ruin is loaded into the world. Also, the game does run smoother on Linux. I had just regular Mint installed on a very low end PC (AMD RX550 GPU) for a while and I did notice a difference in performance. I can't remember the exact numbers I do know it was about a 10 FPS increase. Which wasn't bad, considering it was somewhere below 30 FPS on windows.
  19. I've said plenty of times there should be more than just a single official server. There should be at least one high capacity servers for every region the game is sold in, ideally two or more. But really I can't be particularly bothered by not being able to play on it. You have to travel extremely far to find anything useful, as every other player that joined the world has stripped the land clean things like copper, reeds, clay and flint for ten thousand blocks.
  20. I don't know, I always have multiple crates full of materials to make daub. Even if I never actually make any. The only thing I'd usually have to go out of my way to collect is sand. Also, I did just make some duab on a server I'm playing on currently. I spent like 2 hours collecting the stuff and made way more than I actually needed. I think I needed like 25 or 30 stacks of daub, and ended up making around 50 or 60
  21. This video show you how to copy and paste your buildings in another world. Not sure if items inside chests get transferred as well, but I think they do. Also I'm not sure if it's the same for servers or not https://youtu.be/V5SlQLNHUPw?si=pPiJFbGYe4DcNeO_
  22. Cassava is pretty special as is. It can be used for vegetable satiety or, if dried and ground, can be used for grain satiety. So unless I'm mistaken, I think it can be used to make a pie using the flour for the dough and the soaked root for the filling. But I've never actually tried it so I don't know if it actually works. But Google's AI voice say it should work.
  23. @Tyron is this the bug I reported on GitHub? #8873 You told me if it wasn't fixed in this release, I should reopen the issue. I just want to make sure I don't reopen the issue if it's been fixed.
  24. Check your spam folder. If its not there, open a support ticket and wait for the response.
  25. It would be nice to have carts. It would make moving base much easier. Even if we did have to make a few trips. It would be even better to make them towable by the player in addition to the elk. I can live without airships though. They don't fit in with the time period of the game.
