Just at the title says, I've only recently got into the copper age in my newest world, my few first attempts didn't go well, and I was having a difficult time. However I buckled my seat belt and locked in on my new world. I have a lovely shelter, a very small farm, and now copper tools. I really love the meal making mechanics and the forging mechanics! Only 9 days in but I cannot wait to see what awaits me!

if only mods didn't give a ton of errors every time i use them; the Devs need to optimize the modding side of VS more.

Not sure it's fair to hold bad mods against the actual VS devs.  Changes that break old mods are hard to avoid while the game is still in development.

At least the core game engine gives enough information to figure out which mod causes the problem.  TOBG is hell to pay when there's some kind of conflict like that.  Kudo's to Tyron for making his game with the mod community in mind from day 1!

Whenever my game crashes due to mods, I can troubleshoot the bad mod in less than 15 minutes.  Fixing the problem rarely takes more than either updating the mod or removing it because it isn't actively supported for the game version I play.

Not to throw too much shade, but not all mod authors make sure their code actually works either, or plays nicely with other mods. Likewise, it's important to check that the mod version being used is a stable release, and not a dev version. Dev versions are still very much works-in-progress and will likely have issues.

There's also the good ol' bug or two that escapes notice in testing, and makes it into stable versions. Helped sniff out several of those while assisting a friend with mod development.

I must be lucky, in that the 70 to 80 mods I use all work flawlessly together.  Some people have WAY more than that, and they have no problems either.

I've had the game just over a week, and after trying different worlds to learn the ropes, then deleting them, my latest world has 120 hours in it.  I'm making Iron Chain Mail now, plus some Iron weapons, but my tools are all still tin-bronze, for now.  I got a big kick out of making Copper stuff, as well as Leather, and I was so excited making Tin-Bronze stuff!  😄  Iron has been a whole different ball game, and took ages to figure out, but I made it, after just pulling an all-nighter - I'm tired but happy!  These old bones need a nap though.  I need lots of Borax and Salt, though, so I'll have to get cracking when I wake up. 👍
