Penutbro Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Like does the mechanics of the forge work off of how long its been burning for, or directly off of how much coal is consumed? Like if I use anthracite to fuel the furnace, would I use less bits of coal compared to brown coal because it burns longer, or would it technically take longer for the steel to finish if I used anthracite?
Maelstrom Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago I haven't tested this since about 1.16 but from my tests the type of coal does not matter, it all burns at the same rate once stacked in-world. I'm pretty sure the different burn times and temps relate to smelting ores in the crucible only. 1
Zane Mordien Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago I believe Maelstrom is correct. Last time I checked in 1.20 it didn't make a difference what type of coal you used to heat the furanace it all burns the same rate. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed that one day though.
