I'm not sure I love that most of them are hiding in bunkers, but I understand that it fits in better with the lore. Some of the other traders are quite interesting. I'm not sure if is a spoiler to talk about them since it is probably more fun to find them yourself the first time. Are trader locations tied into the seed now? I feel like I had the same trader in the same place twice just like ruins are located in the seed. I guess that would make sense now that their structures are different and not just wagons. 2

I wouldn't be surprised if they were. It's a little harder to place proper structures than it is to place wagons. 1

I regenerated a world after I had found a few traders and they were in the same general areas, just moved around slightly. probably not more than 20-30 blocks away from where they had previously generated. 3

Agree they were in a certain area, but not always the same type of trader. I played one world multiple times and the type of trader was random. I need to load a world a few times and see if the traders are the same.

ifoz Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 (edited) I think the fact they're mostly living in bunkers is to do with how their structures are now area/climate-specific. The bunkers spawn everywhere, the huts spawn in forests, stilt huts spawn in lakes, desert huts spawn in the far south and thatched huts in the far north. There's also four special structures I won't spoil, since they are rare and very cool. I hope they add some variance between bunkers and huts though, allowing huts to spawn outside of forests. It makes huts very rare since traders usually don't like to spawn in forests in my experience due to the trees blocking them. Edited February 20 by ifoz 2
vinnland Posted February 21 Report Posted February 21 O man, i saw these new traders yesterday. Very cool. Keeps getting better. I didn't really like the carts but boy were they good for dodging bears.
