Trex_Crazy Posted June 10 Report Posted June 10 So for the most part after my initial traumatic experiences with temporal storms I usually just hid in a hole and cooked or something while I waited for them to go away. But recently I realized that early game you can store everything valuable, make a ton of flint spears and hunt a tier 6 enemy and just get a ton of money from them. Granted youll die a lot and you'll only kill 1 maybe 2 tier 6 enemies but thats still a lot of rusty gears. 1

For new players, hiding is still probably the better option, since it's relatively safe and dying multiple times in a row can easily prove frustrating. For more confident or experienced players though, it's not a bad idea to make a plan and tackle the early storms, especially since rusty gears are more valuable early in the game since they can be used to buy all sorts of useful things. The general kit I've been using is bronze lamellar armor with some kind of falx. Copper lamellar isn't as good, but would probably still be decent if bronze is proving to be a bit of a struggle to acquire. The falx is a must due to the auto-loot feature; you may not have time to manually loot the corpses. Aside from that, the key is to be good at kiting monsters, practice good situational awareness, and retreat to safety as needed to heal.
HalfAxd Posted Thursday at 04:51 PM Report Posted Thursday at 04:51 PM I will sometimes build kill zones inside my home (a fenced in area by a door) and let a few baddies in at a time to throw spears at from behind a pillar of dirt. It's not elaborate like the kill boxes some folks make, but it reduces the number of times I die hunting in a storm. Enjoy! 1

I usually put trap doors beneath the front doors with a 2 block deep pit underneath, if you've found some metal spikes in some ruins you can put them at the bottom to deal some extra damage to the drifters, just gotta be careful so you don't fall in yourself. 2
KyoShinda Posted Monday at 11:59 PM Report Posted Monday at 11:59 PM Before they added bowtorn and shivers I had a 2-block tall wall circle I would hunt off of which was money against dbl head drifters, now I just have a flat surface with several stacks of blocks around. I think I've seen one double head drifter this entire time? ;(
Trex_Crazy Posted yesterday at 12:14 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 12:14 AM I want everyone to know (jokingly) that all your designs for farming during a temporal storm is pure cowardice. I make a 3-4 block high 30×30 (technically a little larger since fences dont take up a whole block) flat arena and face the drifters, shivers, etc. in honorable combat. With only a shield and sword in hand. (I will use armor depending on how much I've progressed but usually its just regular clothes and hope whatever hits me doesn't hit anywhere except the front and that it doesnt go over my shields block limit)
KyoShinda Posted yesterday at 12:47 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:47 AM (edited) I just find it annoying getting darted by 3 or so bowtorn at the same time which is why I put up the columns, I just hate my shield losing durability. It's still manageable though, I might do the same. I have good enough armor to 'farm' instead of hiding Edited yesterday at 12:47 AM by KyoShinda

I'm not gonna gatekeep, I'm just being funny
