Querdurch Posted August 22 Report Posted August 22 As the title says, I dug out a huge amount of peat (about 70-80 stacks, sometimes four blocks high) not far from my house and i thought "hm, if i dig this out a bit more i'd have a cool bulk storage area so i dug out an area of about 8-20ish two blocks further down from the peat hole. It was very nice to have and also didn't look half bad either, but my sanity startet to drop fast. I wouldn't really have cared if it didn't affect my house, but it did, I even lost sanity while sleeping. So I decided to completly fill up the hole but nothing changed. Is there a way to get chunks to "recalculate" or something???
Hakor Killer Posted August 22 Report Posted August 22 (edited) Do you happen to have any active rifts nearby? They can make the area unstable, but they should disappear within a few days if that's the case. Edited August 22 by Hakor Killer 3

Unfortunately outside of mods there's nothing you can do to affect or change it. 2 1

As Diff stated this completely tied to the seed of the game. If anyone else used the same seed it would end up with the same temporal stability, ore map, world map, etc...
SnapJelly Posted August 24 Report Posted August 24 Well if the area is truly unstable it should've been unstable from the start, If it wasn't unstable at first but is now then whatever is making it unstable will go away in time as well.
Phillip Susi Posted August 26 Report Posted August 26 There are areas of the world that are unstable on the surface? I've only ever lost temporal stability either from a temporal storm, getting too close to a rift, or being deep down a mineshaft.

Yea, there is above surface temporarily unstable areas. A friend on our server had that problem, and he ended up moving his home to another spot. And no. there was no rifts nearby.
