His iron making video is legit save for the fact that the bloom he creates would be too brittle for usable iron, that's why it cuts and he suddenly has properly hammered perfectly straight iron bars, he didn't fully process the bloom likely cuz it fell apart.

Some said it's fake, others that he had better quality resources. Real shame that these videos got such a bad rep, because it's such a good concept.

PT is the only one I have seen where I am 100% confident he uses nothing but the tools he makes himself, getting all that iron from that orange goop floating on the water is crazy meticulous work but the results are in my experience completely reasonable and honestly setting everything up to try and fake it for an amount so small would probably be more effort than actually harvesting the iron XD There's some other legit channels though but none that I have seen that make proper usable iron without any modern tools at all, save for PT but ya know, he isn't exactly mass producing iron bars either
Hanril Posted Tuesday at 08:57 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 08:57 PM I wouldn't even say PT was overly successful with his iron so far. His first attempt at an iron blade was probably the best. Jumping straight into iron from bushcraft, not having access to the supply chain and bronze industry, even resources available in his land, a lot of mess ups are to be expected, but recording all that is valuable.
