  1. In general I agree that there should be settings to do most of the things you asked for in your suggestion list. But additionally I also think most of these settings should be off by default. You don't want to punish new players or make it too hard for them to get into the game. The kind of hardcore playstyle you are asking for is something that a player can choose later when he/she is more experienced with the game and wants a bigger challenge. But yes, I would love to have things like thirst, harsher winters, a more punishing environment, storm damage, ... I would very likely try to play on such a mode at some point. But please don't burden new players with this Just my opinion
  2. Note that you can actually configure the rate and length of temporal storms. And you can also disable them
  3. For me personally the beginning is always the most fun part. Getting settled, finding your first seeds, making you first metal tools, ... At some point (for me it was at the point I got steel) there is indeed a risk of burnout but for me that's not really a bad thing. I just start over. Maybe with some different difficulty settings. Maybe with some different mods. Try to play differently. But in any case, recreate the fun beginning of the game. But again, this is a very subjective and personal thing. There are many different tastes and ways to play this game. To expand on a point I saw. Personally I'm a huge fan of exploring and I love finding dungeons. Even though these dungeons don't always have much that I actually need it's still just fun to find them and see what's in them. On that note I would love the lore of this game to be expanded a lot.
  4. That's not what I said. This mod only does something with the creative teleporter
  5. This mod changes that. You can now access the creative teleporter GUI in survival
  6. Hmm yes, making it require an iron plate is perhaps a better idea. I'll change that soon. The padlock is indeed a bit weird. I'm open to suggestions
  7. This is a very simple mod that makes the creative teleporter usable in survival. First it adds a crafting recipe: To break a teleporter you can right click with a padlock. You can download the 1.13 version of this mod from here: https://github.com/McJty/TpTools/releases/tag/0.2 You can download the 1.14 version of this mod from here: https://github.com/McJty/TpTools/releases/tag/0.3 Let me know what you think
  8. Hi all, this is my first ever mod for Vintage Story. As some of you may know I have made tons of mods on Minecraft already (The One Probe, Lost Cities, RFTools, Deep Resonance, MeeCreeps, ...). This mod was meant more as a learning experience. I had to learn a new language (C# vs Java) and a new modding API. So it's likely there are bugs in this mod. Please let me know if you find any. At this moment this mod adds two items. First there is the Spade: The spade has only one purpose: that's to move a single block of farmland while keeping its stats. There is already another mod that allows you to break farmland but I believe this is more balanced as it doesn't reset the stats but keeps them as they were. Also it can do only one farmland block at a time. The next item is the Seed Bag: The Seed Bag is a bag that can only hold seeds. It has room for 16 slots of seeds. To open the GUI you simply right click it while looking at the air. If you right click it over farmland it will plant the seeds in a 3x3 area. In addition if a Seed Bag is in your hotbar it will automatically collect seeds that you harvest (if there is room) The mod can be downloaded from: For 1.13: https://github.com/McJty/FancyTools/releases/tag/0.2 For 1.14: https://github.com/McJty/FancyTools/releases/tag/0.3 For 1.15: https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/320#tab-files Comments are welcome! You can also look at the source code if you want. No promises on that though. This is my first mod so I may have made lots of mistakes there (I welcome constructive criticism). I have a twitter profile here: https://twitter.com/McJty And a discord server here: https://discord.gg/4wMtFKT Thanks
  9. I'm really looking forward to all features that make exploring more fun. That includes more varied ruins, villages, special biomes, ... I'm also looking forward to new crafting mechanics like alchemy, brewing, ...
  10. I do agree that the night could maybe be somewhat shorter but on the other hand it is certainly not wasted time. There is plenty that you can do at night in your sheltered home and garden. I usually tend the crops, cook meals from ingredients that I have gathered, make new metal tools, do some panning, make my house a bit prettier and so on. In fact, it was only in the beginning that I felt the need to skip the nights because right now I don't even sleep anymore because I simply have enough to do. Just make sure that you postpone the tasks that can be done at night until it is night and do the exploring/outside work while it is daytime. But it would be lovely if the length of the night would be configurable when you create a world. That way people can tweak it to what they desire
  11. Actually 900 units of copper isn't that much. Every copper nugget gives 5 units
