    Marble?

yes, I know. I have made stripe mining in phyllite rock without success.
  2. yes, VS may look hard. But it's a challenge and finally as soon as you step over basic survival tasks you'll take more control and game starts to be fun. I remember my first days I was threatened to death. Now after few months of playing I have got big beautiful house, 120 chests full of sources, about 40 repaired translocators and one of my biggest joy is hunting wolves during night. Simply keep going and you'll be fine...
  3. I occasionally hear starting teleporter sound when walking somewhere. I dig the place thorougly but no any teleporter there. Is it a bug or what ?
  4. Minor updates don't have any effect on existing world. We did update several times from 1.13 to 1.14.8 and no any problem. You should allow remapping when asked after update (this procedure remaps blocks/items IDs if new version has changed anything). Don't avoid it !!! It'll be world gen update somewhere in the future. This will probably have some effect on world gen and map continuity. I have asked what problems it could cause but no answer yet. Node Search is elementary and really needed feature. Definitely no cheating. Turn it on. Look for other thread here concerning prospecting. It describes whole process in details. No, it is not possible to relocate Translocator. However you can switch to creative mode and use Teleporter block. We allowed to use Teleporter block on our multiplayer server. Every player can use one Teleporter (no distance limit, player should travel to both places of his teleport line). Teleporter is build by admins on demand and it costs 16 temporal gears one-time.
  5. Seniku, you can use your account login to login at more computers. Simply use one of your installed games to login and you're fine...
  6. yes, login to your profile on vintagestory.at and there you can change your ingame name. You can do it every three month. No more times.
  7. Quick save is typical feature for prescripted games with fixed world with minimal changes during playing (e.g. Halflife, Doom, and many others). Quick save means saving player position, his inventory and stage of game - very few data. Operation is usually very quick and takes seconds max tens of seconds. Minecraft style games have usually huge worlds with a lot of changes of world data (new buildings, generated terrain that could be changed, many chests with materials, etc etc). So saving means to copy all that information - hundreds of megabytes, sometimes gigabytes. Using term "quick save" is somehow misunderstanding of scale of such procedure. You can easily run VS DB backup operation. But for your information this operation takes on our server (before upgrade to quick SSD disk) circa 45 minutes. This is really NOT quick save and can't be practically used for real quick save during playing. Thats why I think it's totally not usable and most of the players will not demand such a function. "Unless the reasoning is: This is a multi-player game and we do not want to put any effort into the rudimentary single-player part." I think the reasoning is: we do not want to put any effort into something what isn't practically usable. My hint: set "keep inventory on death", use temporal gear to set your spawn point, make daily backups of world and you'll be fine....

    Marble?

I look for Marble like a hell without success. Any tips? I know it's found in Phyllite and Slate.
  9. I think it's perfect feature cos VS is about realism. It depends on many factors as Hal13 has said. And I like it a lot. Isn't it amazing to crawl through dense forest, to hear wolves howl and to not to know what direction from they'll attack you ?
  10. Temporal storm = temporal gears time. Don't hide, go out, fight and get your green reward.
  11. I think the better form for such a functionality would be a mod.
  12. You!re right, corrected my answer. (I mishmashed two preset and I though it's bug.)
  13. 1. yes, and your start position depends on world gen parameter Starting Climate 2. 100.000 in world parameters means pole to equator distance. (CORRECTED) 3. yes, they are more poles and more equators every 100.000 one pole/equator. Moreover poles are not points but lines. 4. it depends on your world setting (where do you start - Starting Climate parameter; usuall setting is Temperate). My world has equator at 26.300, and poles at -23.600 and 76.300 (not exact numbers !). And I started at 0 (zero). 5. You can easily calculate now. But I haven't tested such an extreme world gen setting.
  14. I wonder how to create big stained glass / painting for church or cathedral. To create something like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=stained+glass https://www.google.com/search?q=st+agnes+stained+glass How to create detailed painting ? => use microchiseling and mix several block different colors, and use chiseling to select color of every "pixel". Where to get some usable color palette ? => Polished rocks offer very bad color palette. Creative blocks (64 colors - 32dark/32light + 16 B&W) are much better. And it is possible to chisel creative blocks (in 1.14.7). (It's not possible to microchisel glass blocks unfortunately. Moreover color palette of glass blocks is limited.) How to give creative blocks to survival player? => Special mod with new crafting recipes (e.g. granite block + cinnabar => 8 red creative blocks; granite block + lapis => 8 blue creative blocks; granite block + cinnabar + lapis => 8 purple creative blocks; granite block + cinnabar + 2x lapis => 8 purple (more blue) creative blocks; granite block + cinnabar + lapis + coal => 8 dark purple creative blocks; etc. etc. 80 recipes in sum). How to convert any chosen image to my VS palette for microchiseling ? => Use Photoshop. 1.Create special color palette (swatch) including all VS creative blocks colors (64 colors + 16 B&W). 2.Open image. Resize image to needed resolution (for example: I want image portrait orientation to cover 5 x 7 blocks and use microchiseling with 16 "pixels" per block => I need image 80*112 pixels; probably use some bicubic transformation). 3.Convert image to Indexed colors. Use created VS colors palette. I think it's important to choose suitable image with less subtle color transitions, with simple colors and low details. Otherways the conversion may not happen very well. And some try and error process will be necessary. What do you think? Any thoughs? Experiences?
  15. I always wondered why is MInecraft terrain so much repeated and finally boring (the first version had interesting terrain gen but next version got very dull and boring). VS is a different case. As I explore new and new parts of map I'm surprised again and again by new types of landscapes and new combinations of rock type, mountain shape, caves, etc. I think it'd be very easy to get more variations only by adding more parameters for generation. I think it'd be better to have all three worldgen setting in one generated map so standard terrain could slowly transform to very tall "table" mountains with huge cave system inside or transform to lower and lower terrain with finally missing bottom layer and floating island "world".
  16. Amazing !!!
  17. We'd like to add some special craft recipe to use creative items/blocks. For example: one lapis + 16 torches => 16 blue torches.
  18. Is a simple way to add new craft recipe ? (Like Minetweaker in Minecraft or similar...)
  19. You can look into folder: <your VS folder>\assets\survival\entities\humanoid and read "trader-<type>.json" files.
  20. Poisonous plant can be used to produce poisonous arrows. It kills in one hit.
  21. "/debug cr"
  22. Thanks Tyron. Your developing (fixing, tweaking...) speed is amazing.
  23. Use Echo Chamber to play them. Echo chamber is obtainable very rarely as loot, and some traders sell it.
  24. Yes, all this is clear. But with longblade I can hit quickly and I almost never miss. So I'm able to face wolf, hit it several times and finally chase him and kill him. This is impossible with bow/arrow. I can hit it with first arrow. Most probably I'm not able to hit next (unable to aim at running wolf or too slow bow usage - wolf kills me first) and if yes as soon as wolf run away I'm totally not able to kill it (to aim and hit). So all that numbers are ok but practically I'm not able to use bow/arrows to effectively kill anything. So I use longblade always. If you do have some hint how to effectively use bow/arrow and kill anything really and certainly, tell me please. Spear is very good. I had used it a lot in first game phases and forgot it. I'll give a try now...
  25. I know it. Of course. I speak about strange behaviour. Scythe is relatively slow, reacts slowly, it's weird. All when targeting valid target. I feel the previous model was better,
