And that's part of the problem. Most people I have discussed this with have the same opinion as EmperorPingu in the statement I quoted below. We don't want to turn off Temporal Stability completely, we just don't want it affecting surface chunks because that restricts player freedom. The game does not give any option to disable this portion without also disabling it in its' entirety. I think the application of Temporal Stability affecting you underground is great, it's somewhat predictable and limits how much time a player can spend harvesting valuable ores and looting ruins, but can be counter-acted by killing rust monsters or by sacrificing a temporal gear.

Can I disable seasons while my friends are offline?
Forks replied to BasedMontgomery's topic in Questions
I've heard changing season length after world creation causes issues, but I don't have any solid proof. If crop and animal growth aren't a concern you could always do /time stop Although I believe this also stops natural health regeneration so keep that in mind. -
I believe the overlay can also be activated by shift+clicking on the refractory door, we use one for our cellar and misclick when sprinting in all the time. So they may not have a coffin at all in there.

Is it possible that it is a bear? I know they can attack a Seraph over a fence. So maybe it's a case of the animals getting attacked by a bear on the other side and then when they die their hitbox drops low enough that the bear can't feed on it over the fence? As far as the lamb goes, maybe a similar situation and the other Bighorns slowly nudged the body towards the center just by walking over it?

I don't agree with making iron spears too heavy to throw as some people have said. If people are so terrified of Iron Spears being game breaking and dominating the "meta" why not add Iron Spears with Iron level durability, but keep the damage the same as say Tin Bronze spears? The damage is still very respectable and you get the bonus of cheap high durability spears late game that you don't have to hunt tin for. Personally I've been converted to Recurve bow + Iron Arrow gang, but Iron Spears should exist in some shape or form.

Varied food and cooking suggestions: Mixed nutrition, nuts and more!
Forks replied to Monkeylord's topic in Suggestions
Fantastic suggestions, personally I agree with all of them. Doughforming is something I've never even thought of, but now I feel like I desperately need it. And all your points about fruit trees are disappointly accurate, we're almost done with our second winter on my server and really the only benefit I see in the orchard I have slaved over is that the fruits last significantly longer than berries. -
I have so much respect for people who play with fire spread on. God speed, may your homestead recover swiftly.

Would highly recommend https://mods.vintagestory.at/stonequarry for your stone needs. It's the only mod I refuse to play without.

Do we really need a combat overhaul? What are your opinions on it?
Forks replied to Josiah Gibbonson's topic in Discussion
I never said a change to combat would not affect other play styles, in fact only you and Vahtapor are making any claims about whether or not other playstyles would be affected. I asked you to explain how exactly updating combat would "diminish" homesteading. What negative impacts are you fighting so hard against? -
Assuming the wiki to be accurate, no, you can only remove the glue from the pot with a bowl. However, you can avoid the extra hassle and use the pot directly on the clutter to apply the glue.

Do we really need a combat overhaul? What are your opinions on it?
Forks replied to Josiah Gibbonson's topic in Discussion
I don't see how their "assertion is false". The general statement being made is that people such as yourself can continue to avoid combat happily while the people suffering from the current combat system can enjoy the benefits of it being improved. How would an overhaul diminish the non-combat focused aspects of the game? Should we fight against all overhauls then? Say I enjoy the simplicity of the 3x3 grid crafting system fabric uses, should I complain about a proper weaving system being implemented because it would make what I'm used to more complicated? Or should I accept that as an upgrade to a basic system? -
Rabbits should drop white meat, and chickens too
Forks replied to TamanduaGirl's topic in Suggestions
Would it make sense under the same logic to have fish meat renamed to white meat as well? I don't know much about meats for reference. I just know that I never have enough poultry and fish meat to make proper meal portions. -
Not sure if you are new or not so I'll ask the question most obvious to myself. Do you have a rock/flint of the same type in your hand while trying to knap the placed rock/flint?

Use the command "/player [name] allowcharselonce" This will reopen the character creation menu in game. Just a warning though, I believe if you're using xskills this may reset your skills.

I always just google "minecraft circle generator" and tweak the settings until it's roughly the shape I want. Nice because it's completely up to you how small you want to chisel it.

G-portal hosting for few friends, is there a way to mod?
Forks replied to Mute Beaver's topic in Questions
I actually wanted to follow up on this as I just opened a new VS gportal server. I'm sure you have solved it by now, but I found simply uploading the .zip files to the Mods folder works (yes the one with the text file saying dont put mods here) The only issues I've had so far have been xlib, xskills, and stone quarry not working, but I'm chalking that up to them being out of date. -
Excellent work, now mod the armors into the game

These are all so awesome, do you have socials?

G-portal hosting for few friends, is there a way to mod?
Forks replied to Mute Beaver's topic in Questions
I think GPortal might have changed things on their end, I remember not being able to get the filezilla method to work about a year ago when I last used GPortal for a server. However, there should be a dedicated Mod tab in the server settings (in Gportal) that lets you search mods straight from the vintage story mod db with a one-click install -
The roofs look great, is that the one roof mod?

Technically yes, you can add potash to farmland which will upgrade it to the next soil type, but it actually only improves the K nutrient. Aside from that you can only upgrade from High Fertility to Terra Preta, but assuming High Fertility isn't spawning your only other option would be to craft Terra Preta from scratch. You could try this mod, https://mods.vintagestory.at/tieredsoil , but it isn't updated for the current version of the game.

If you opened up a LAN connection or are on any sort of Dedicated Server the pause function will not pause, but if not I'm not sure what could have caused it. Either way just do yourself a favor and spawn your items back in: https://wiki.vintagestory.at/List_of_server_commands#/gamemode I've lost much less than you have and taken a break, losing iron armor is just brutal.

Ah, honestly I got you confused with OP for whatever reason. You're right though, it would be very nice to have a proper pipeline, I think it just boils down to the wiki not having that many peers to review.

Heya, I'm actually a Wiki editor (with a grand total of 1 edit lol) It's really simple to get editor privileges, but they don't seem to have any presence here on the forums. It's all done through the Official Vintage Story discord server, if that's not a problem you can just ask for editor privileges through the wiki-and-translations channel.
