  1. Even a bad map can have its upsides when you look at it differently. But I do agree, some maps are just plain horrendous.
  2. @VratislavAssuming you have that map, or seed still. You can locate the spawn points for the wolves, and set pit traps there. Endless supply of meat. The bears will be a little bit harder. But nothing a pit trap cant solve either. And since you need not just meat, but the fat and pelts as well, that map is a win win in my eyes.
  3. Unless I plan copper spearheads or find one in ruins or pottery, I myself don't bother much with copper spears. Or anything copper for that matter unless absolutely necessary. And mostly for nails and strips only.
  4. Its a solid suggestion. The wire frame is not always clearly visible. I have that problem when knapping stones outside when not under shade. Easier when its dark.
  5. Actually I like the idea of the trees.
  6. I generally start milking at gen 1. Troublesome, but doable. Gen 2 is easier. And Gen 3 you really start to get milk with minimal effort (relatively speaking). Gen 3 imo is the best point to start milking, and increasing the domestication level as you go.
  7. I agree with you regarding the meat drops not proportional to the size of the animal. Fortunately you can install R.Meat or Butchering. Real Meat is another option (although I havent played with that one yet). Word of advice, when dealing with those mods, make sure to install Primitive Survival as well. You'll need the smoker mechanic.
  8. Its an initial mechanic, and bound to change as they get back feedback. Wait for the final release version when its more locked down.
  9. 2'nd chapter still being worked on, and the game is still in Alpha. with 1.22 in pre release. I am more than happy to wait for them to finish their vision for what they have in store for the game.
  10. I would say that sounds like a bug. Unless of course, the food in the bowl is still hot, and that was an intended change to make people to wait a bit for the food to cool down. Which sounds like it was what happened.
  11. Yea it can be frustrating to milk a gen 1 goat, or bighorn sheep. Easier with each subsequent generation afterwards. If i am in a hurry to get milk, i would wait for gen 1. If not that much in a hurry, i wait for at least gen 2 (preferably 3), before I start milking them.
  12. first i'm hearing of Travertine. Edit: Oh right, its a new rock type as part of 1.22. It will eventually be fixed, its afterall a prerelease, and they did say things may (and probably will have problems, resulting in crash and burn).
  13. Also as others have said, this is a pre release, and the first one at that. So a lot of things will change before the final version is released.
  14. Actually that is a role play I would love. Blacksmith, chef, and farmer, and making sure the hard working players always have enough food, and their gear is repaired. For me that would be fun.
  15. I would say the planks. Havent tried it yet myself. Plan to tonight.
  16. Posting links to discord doesnt help if the link doesnt want to open.
  17. Thats a great question. Would love to know that as well, and if there is a mechanic for fish to spawn via fish eggs. And since an area can also run low on earth worms, is it possible for a depleted area to recover after a while before its completely depleted?
  18. Tbh I never thought of that myself, hence me hauling rocks with me, so I can make new spears if the need pushes and I got the time to do so. Otherwise i use whatever I have at hand (or hand to claw) to finish the job before I make new spears.
  19. That won't be much of a problem. There are mods that enable you to trap them and transport them where you need them. Release them in an enclosure till you have enough fur to fill a barrel. That's when you start to harvest them. To the developers, great work with the next update, and as a feature request, Cellar ice for the cellars.
  20. My friend on the other hand (same map on the server) had the unfortunate bad luck of dealing with 1-2 arctic bears on a daily in game basis at his base. He went so far up north, it was practically permanent glacier ice everywhere.
  21. Only thing I can think of is when you typed in the password, and did it again a second time to confirm that you typed it in right, that the two didnt match, or that there was a network issue when doing the reset. Request a new password reset, and if that fails, submit a ticket for the developers to look at it. There may be a deeper issue on the account side (I actually had a scenario with that, and it was sorted out within the hour of opening a ticket.). If that doesnt help, then I dont know.
  22. The account email (used by the game), and the forum email may be the same in my case, but the passwords for both are different. It could be you typed in the email for password recovery wrong, or the email for the account recovery is in the spam folder (happens).
  23. Funny, I tend to do just that. If I don't dig out an existing hill, for the initial room, before digging down for the rest of the base, having a natural valley means less digging down, and i build upward. The valley makes the perfect area for me as I just place a roof over that point, place walls, and doors, and my rooms are done a lot faster. Did have an occasional map with a base at a point that LOVES to spawn wolves (heavily forested area), and the more than occasional bear. One map in particular I had to deal with the odd 20 to 30 wolves per in game week. I just took that scenario, placed pit traps galore, and harvested the meat. No need to move the base unless the temporal stability is too bad.
  24. Got to admit, you just gave me an idea to make improvements to my pit traps for wolves and bears. I will never say no to fresh meat that walks in like that. no more chasing them till my seraph is blue in the face
  25. Check your password. It's the most common mistake. The forum account and password, and the game account and password are completely separate.
