  1. Yyyyyeaaaahhh no. That does not sound fun. That sounds like the opposite of fun. Also trying to get more similar to That Other Block Game seems to be at cross purpose with making the game not seem like a clone of that one. Tel you what though: that sounds like an amazing creature for a mod to contain.
  2. Is this in 1.17 or 1.18?
  3. ...But-but t-t-that's not how glaciers work!
  4. I find myself hesitant when it comes to adding more stuff that needs temporal gears, as then you will have to increase the droprates for them and end up with the whole diamond situation from That Other Block Game, where they ended up adding a new super rare resource to take the position of diamonds. Just make it a steel boiler, steam-powered one with charcoal for fuel.
  5. As long as you don't have too much of a fox+ wolf problem it can also serve as an emergency food supply from spring till autumn and that you reset at the end of winter (when you kill those there to get fresh ones with good weight).
  6. You do realise that even with your proposed changes, that all it takes is a 2 deep 1 wide "moat" made of cobble and you are done. Thus effectively only adding a "gotcha" for new players only, and just some additional busywork for everyone. And so I propose that they are left as is. Why yes I really dislike busywork for busywork's sake.
  7. Huh, yep that looks like a bug. Hey @Tyron , Troy here has got a bug for you. Though, @Troy next time you find a bug you should report it at the Issue tracker. Or at the very least check if it can be found there.
  8. You need to put the water in the pan's slots after you have placed the pan in the firepit, not inside the pan's liquid container as you have.
  9. Startup question: do you have any mods?
  10. This had been an issue at least in 1.16.x, if not earlier .Though I was under the impression l33tman had fixed it.
  11. @Falco, in addition to what @Spear and Fang said, you can disable all the things you don't care about through the config file. I know I have.
  12. I do believe you can change these settings using commands. Just in case you like your current world. Edit: I was correct: Link to the relevant wiki page /worldconfig creatureHostility [aggressive|passive|off] Set default creature hostility (default: aggressive)
  13. There is currently a bug that makes most non vanilla meals (including noodles, salads, etc) give half the saturation that they say they should. @l33tmaan has been wrangling with it for several months now.
  14. There's your problem! You need liquid egg, not just yolk or the white. Edit: Also a disclaimer, dumplings, pasta, breaded foods and possibly some other ones when used in meals provide only half the saturation they claim in the meal tooltip when eaten. This is a known bug and l33tman is working on it.
  15. Expanding on that thought, rice could require furrowed farmland to be planted. Loosely similar to its real life requirements (partly submerged etc).
  16. Say @Spear and Fang, would it be simple to make the minimum hydration levels furrowed farmland maintains adjustable through the config file?
  17. I personally keep my animals in pens with internal dimensions of 7x7 and thus a single torch is enough to both avoid them despawning and drifters from spawning in there. It also makes it simple to keep well lit with a lantern hanging at up to 4 blocks high.
  18. On the other hand Primitive Survival already has worms and an irrigation system that you can use.
  19. By left clicking with a bowl twice. Edit: Different liquid containers (bowl, jug, bucket, etc.) have different minimum quantities they can deposit. This is vanilla behaviour.
  20. As to when it comes to ACTUAL QoL mods that change no gameplay, here are 3 (well 2 and a half): ProspectorInfo : what this mod does is record your prospector findings on your map to make locating possible deposits slightly easier Simple HUD Clock : this adds a HUD clock that also contains day, month, year and season information. also activates a timer when a temporal storm is announced that shows you how much time you have (configurable) Carry On: This is the mod you asked about that allows you to move containers without having to empty them. Carry On More:And this is the addon for it that provides support for various mods that do not natively have support for it. Because we all start with the most vanilla of intentions but we know we will end up with more mods than we know what to do with
  21. The question is, of course, how much water and how much fat.
  22. Quoting from the wiki : https://wiki.vintagestory.at/index.php/Temperature For more specific help than this, screenshots would be helpful.
  23. And as some one who is not a fan of PvP and does not engage with it if I can avoid it, I feel I should quote the following as it is a very good counterargument that needs to be reiterated once more: Emphasis mine. Also, harping on for PvP is how we got input lag on attacks with swords instead of something that does not make attacking feel like you are fighting the game engine as well as the enemies. When you hit the attack button the attack should happen, not start winding up to happen. It was bad with spears but I felt that it was useful to encourage you to throw them instead. On the swords it is something that renders them unusable, so much so I have stopped making them and using axes instead. I do not need to point out why that is bad for the combat mechanics, do I? If you have to have a delay between attacks (and yes it is better gameplay that you cannot spam attacks as fast as you can click) add a wind down instead of the wind up that exists now.
  24. Ah ok I misunderstood. With resin being optional it is not nearly as painful as I thought it was. Still while it is a very interesting idea for a mod, it is not something I would want in the main game.
  25. A very interesting idea for a Mod. But having it implemented in the base game sounds ...not fun. Especially the beginning, where you need to either get lucky and find resin, or hunt animals with access to worse than stone spears or other hunting tools. It honestly sounds like a rather miserable way to start. Also using resin will compete with its use for mechanical power items. In general it feels like complexity for the sake of complexity, without offering some other advantage to recompense for it.
