  1. First of all Merry Christmas. Second @l33tmaan I finally found some time for VS and went to my test world with the latest ACA and EF. Remember the following bug report? It still happens.
  2. Cattail ROOTS cook. Cattails not so much.
  3. In one block deep water?!?
  4. "a bear who drowned" ...how?
  5. That is business as usual for the charcoal pit. As the wiki says: "The yield for each stack of 32 firewood is between 4 and 7 charcoal, the average yield of each stack is 5.5 charcoal." It is entirely possible if you put 2 stacks of firewood to get just 8 charcoal, which is one block in height when placed as a pile. Also if you don't make the pit correctly you will not get reduced yield or something similar, what will happen is that the wood will catch fire and if you don't put the fire out you will get nothing. If you read the handbook entry on charcoal making it warns you about it, and about paying attention to check if you can hear burning sounds as that is the fastest indicator that you did something wrong. They do. I often make my charcoal pits at least partly from glass both because I like the look and because it makes it easy to see when the process is complete. Also because it makes it fast and easy to open with bare hands.
  6. It looks surprisingly similar to the oven in VS, both in construction method and use. Which makes sense as apart from scale it appears to be, if a slightly more primitive one.
  7. Yes! I too had some trouble believing it at first, but it is true. He really is the author.
  8. Erm... you do know that l33tman is the author of Expanded Foods, right?
  9. For both of these things the reason is the same: It only counts as a cellar and not a cave if more than 50% of the walls floor and ceiling are not made of raw stone, cobblestone.or dirt. The simple and easy way to check, is while you are hearing the surface music enter the cellar. If it stops, or it starts playing cave music then you do not have a cellar but a cave.
  10. That will teach me to check such things at 2 AM Yes you are correct it is indeed VintagestoryData\Mods.
  11. Having just tried the Open Mods Folder button, it indeed takes me to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Vintagestory\Mods where I have the mods I am using. If you could tell us where it takes you, someone may be able to point you to where your problem is. Also after you have placed the mods at C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Vintagestory\Mods , you need to click Reload Mods to see them in the mods UI.

    Bears

You mean you have some Beef with the bears?
  13. "...It's only a model." Sorry it had to be done, seeing how it is only the front facing. But jokes aside this is a really impressive start. Keep up the good work.
  14. Also in addition to what the others have said, the maximum amount you can make in one go depends on if you are using a saucepan, a mini cauldron, or a cauldron. As an aside, I love how faster the big cauldron makes filling up barrels with water.
  15. Just in case you are not aware: you find marble as veins inside granite. And it does not show up as a resource when prospecting. Generally these kinds of information about various stone types can be found in the handbook entry about Rock Strata.
  16. You can also select the bag slots directly by pressing sprint (by default "ctrl") + 1 or 2 or 3 or 4.
  17. A clarification on this: the only block that matters for the results of prospecting is the first one in the set. IE: Say you take your first reading of your prospecting set on the block with coordinates (754, 102, -458). If after you complete a set by taking readings at blocks (754, 102, -463) and (754, 102, -468) (and thus get a result) you use a whole rock block to replace the hole at (754, 102, -458) and use it to take a new set of readings with blocks at (759, 102, -458) and (764, 102, -458), the results of both sets will be identical.
  18. In 1.17 the longblade was replaced by the falx. So you should be looking for the mold and recipie for a falx instead of the longblade.
  19. Same problems with pasta and salads, with or without fried stuff. Also in the handbook entry for cold pasta you do not specify that meat must be cooked
  20. I have dabbled in neither pasta, salads or fried foods tbh. So I will have to check.
  21. They give as much satiety as shown.
  22. So, @l33tmaan I have a bug report for you: The vegetable stew with dumplings and breadcrumbs gives less satiety than it says it should. It says it should give 1405 satiety but gave me 837. The dumplings were made with water, spelt flour, eggs and aged meat nuggets.
  23. It may, possibly (though I have doubts), improve immersion but it would really suck from a gameplay perspective, as it is the dumb kind of gotcha that only works on newbies and even then only the first time and can only help turn people away from the game, as dumb gotchas are wont to do. Also hiding this kind of information from the player goes against the design philosophy of Vintage story. TLDR: if you like the idea so much make a mod for it.
  24. "Insufficient data for a meaningful answer." Smartass reply aside, having completed the recipe myself successfully recently, you need to give us more information on what you are doing for us to be able to tell you what you are missing / what the problem is / what you are doing wrong. Also, screenshots tend to help and require less effort on your part to describe what you did.
  25. Is this an optional dependency, or a required one?
