  1. Having my own hacked locusts/sawblades generally makes dealing with them a lot easier lol. But yeah otherwise you gotta get used to its attacks and practice dipping in and out like others have said.
  2. It's Combat Overhaul Its Armory mod also adds a bunch of different weapons and such as well.
  3. At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within my back yard?
  4. I was browsing the mod page and came across this Which got me to peek into the patch .json for the player entity in the mod, and I thought it'd be possible to tweak the settings as such to match the Seraph height to normal humans, which was something I'd wanted so I went a-lookin, only to find nothing about a mod that does that, nor any search results giving me the value for Nadiyan's model height, hitboxes, etc that I'd need to swap out the values for without having to sloppily tweak and guess in increments to try and match them (which I did try, to varying degrees of hilarious failure, where I'd managed to get the mesh where I wanted, but the hitbox and first person POV wound up being jank as hell lol) Since I'm pretty new to VS in general and have zero coding/modding experience I wanted to pick your brains about how to go about achieving something like this. like where I'd be able to find the values for the Nadiyan NPC dimensions, whether their values could simply be inserted into the ones for the player, and if anybody's in the process of making a mod to achieve as such. As much as I'm a sucker for race specific heights so I could play a midget while I ask my husband to play a huge adonis (or sneak changes into his values so he'd hit his head on the doorframe like I did in the other block game), I read that it wasn't possible to change heights specifically per player. So at the very least, I'd like to play with normal heights instead of feeling weird around the Nadiyans.
  5. I'd imagine the chicken farms would end up either further away from home or some poor aggravated seraph is going to have some poultry to cook soon lol but yeah it'd still be a nice option, as it is I simply keep all three types of bed (hay roll, crafted bed and found aged bed) for different times it lets me sleep and sleep accordingly to when I want to wake up, though I do wish I could set how much I'd sleep sometimes so I wouldn't have to keep beds around that don't really look that fitting into my more advanced home at this point. Playing with Xskills on also helps me have a reason to sleep aside from avoiding the darkness as sleeping and waking up gives me an exp boost for a period of time depending on how long I'd slept. I wound up spawning somewhat north so my nights are long and days are short for at least half the year, so sleeping is definitely a plus and must for me. Especially since I hate traveling during the night, too often I get spooked by whatever spawned and jumpscares me lol And camping out with a firepit, my bedroll and my elk while I cook some meat I hunted during the day while traveling is also a mood too. Though since I usually travel during winter and having spawned somewhat up north the nights are if anything too long to sleep completely through.
  6. To be fair, if the tree is tall enough even cutting them down/shaving the leaves seem to leave a block floating sometimes too and I've seen it happen a few times with redwood trees, the snow piles stacking on top of branch blocks were especially egregious too, happening on top of slightly taller oak trees, often hanging around even if all leaves were gone.
  7. A few of these are already implemented in the Combat Overhaul mod so it's definitely possible I think. Namely the parrying and throwing of the spear and light/heavy shields that also make defending an active task. You could also adjust the grip on the spear to adjust it's reach too which is great. A few of the mobs also already telegraph their attacks enough to parry consistently, and the only ones I think are a bit too jank to do so reliably against are shivers and locusts, with bowtorn's back lean and lunge almost being inconsistent enough to make parrying a bit difficult Coated weapons are a great idea too imo though yeah, and it'd give the poisonous mushrooms another use case outside of poisoning yourself or your friends I have no idea either if that's possible to implement since I'm in the same position you are lol Also a bit off topic but I do hope that there comes a passive lighting option too late enough game to keep the light source/defense of the game relevant but to give an option later on to have both, which I think are possible as there're several mods that add belt/backpack/helmet attached lights... They're sadly just too out of date to use currently afaik.
  8. Thankfully the disappearing Elk + the incorrect marker for them has been my biggest bug I'd encountered to date... Second only to a certain Causing me to be unable to progress the main quest lol I did wonder if it was due to a mod or something but as far as I know I don't have any mods that mess with that place.
  9. Reminds me of Asian fortress wall building lol How it's earthworks encased in stone and it coincidentally ended up being better against cannon fire than the standard european wall before it was modified against it. BUT I'll definitely take this to heart when I start building my own fortress wall =u= Gotta finish my house first though, lol
  10. I've been wanting to get the mod specifically for that reason but comments on the mod page about bugs and crashes on up to date versions has me a bit reluctant to get it myself since that's what I'm playing on. Also as for the suggestion it'd fit right into vanilla mechanics so I'm hoping it gets integrated at some point.
  11. The historical realism was the biggest pull for me, and honestly realism and fantasy aren't mutually exclusive, if anything I'd say the former very handily makes the latter far more immersive and grounded
  12. Don't forget the highlanders also used Peat bogs to Tan leather or store food like butter for long periods (learnt that one thanks to Fandabi Dozi). It'd make for a great historically accurate alternative to having to look for limestone or borax.
  13. Been meaning to draw this one for a few days now, here's a lil shitscribble of something that happened...
  14. Not sure if it's a coincidence but it seems to have improved drastically since last update
  15. Been having this issue since I started, I hope it gets addressed soon, because not being able to harvest the animals I hunt have been exacerbating my starving lol
