  1. Yes, very this. Oh my god this. And also byproduct/coincidental mineral occurrence. They already have the concept of "child deposits" with silver and gold, they just need to expand upon that so my copper holds gold etc Hey this guy sounds like a Squi- Called it. @Bruno Willis "Rusted out?" She's not rusted out, she's just sleeping...
  2. ...does this guy not know what ProspectTogether does? It just shares data from someone else's prospect and marks the chunk that data was pulled from. Yknow, like a geo analysis paper. What people are "fixing" with their mods isn't what you're whinging about being "wrong with" the mechanic. Just cave dive if you don't like the mechanic. RE: @Teh Pizza Lady I get where you're coming from, but the mineral occurrence and geology modelling just isn't granular enough to warrant true prospecting methodologies, and without Density Mode you'd be burning through your propicks even faster trying to find lenses one block at a time.
  3. The thing is, "gold is where you find it" All the mapping systems and all the geology knowledge in the world can tell you "It uh...SHOULD be here at X in Y quantity" but until you get in and start breaking and licking rocks, you're not going to know, due to how surface mineral occurrences...well, occur. Hydrothermals, especially. That's what the propick system tries to emulate, even though it doesn't have a mineralogical occurrence system outside of "X mineral coincides with Y host rock" Personally, I'd love a mineral injection model using the 1, 3, 7, 21 method around intrusions.
  4. Problem being, you would then have an unsupported axle just hanging in the air, unsupported on both ends if it doesn't terminate in machinery.

    Fog

    That is fog, yes.
  6. Yeah, like I said, we have cheese.
  7. That's a little reductive, don't you think? What I'm seeing is people who are not experiencing your particular problems with prospecting, and ones that are suggesting interim fixes until such a time as VS has a rehash of the prospecting systems.
  8. Hahaha, my man! See, the rockhounds know. I hate placer, myself, but I'm more into silver right now anyway.
  9. I got you. So, first, we release an update that fully simulates erosion and migration of mineral wealth through an ecosystem. Wind erosion, oxidation, the works. Then, we tie that into the upcoming river simulation, so the sediment carried by the river is affected by the eluvial that tumbles into the streambed, further eroding and becoming alluvial as it travels through currents during heavy rainfalls. Then, all the players have to do is find the bends and eddies in the rivers (including long dormant ones, as the rivers meander) and pan along the desposits, prospecting upstream until they no longer find alluvial, at which point they begin to search uphill for the eluvial that is weathering out into the river, thereby allowing them to trace all the way to the outcropping veins to source the lode. You want prospecting? Ladies and gentlemen, I give you prospecting.
  10. You could just program that behavior, like the animals. Not everything has to be AI, with its bloated code, terrible turnaround and massive resource load.
  11. Certain minerals only occur in certain classes of stone. Geology
  12. TL;DR is supposed to go at the beginning of the post.
  13. OP already hates vanilla bow. That's the post, K. Maybe OP will like CO.
  14. Have you tried Combat Overhaul?
  15. Title. I don't care if it's a mod or not. We need it, you know this to be true. Why walk slow and hunger more, when can Thing Ring or Shazam into action??

  16. I dunno, man, there's only so many times a man can level a flintlock pistol at one of these monstrosities and go "Yer goose...is cooked!" before it loses its charm.
  17. @Ayrton Dude made an alternate account just to continue pushing Bird-Snakes, smh This is in jest
  18. pierogi ravioli pot stickers wontons crab rangoon egg rolls we have the ingredients to make all these things
  19. Sure, but by your own admission that takes like one day
  20. Sure, but, conversely, you could use the time you'd waste building all that farming/ranching infrastructure to just get better/any armor and immediately crank up your effective hp higher than you'd ever get ACTUAL HP through food hoodoo. And there's no point in doing both, since finding yourself in combat that prolonged at this point in the development should have also instructed you on your limits and you won't be counting on scant slivers of hp to win the day.
  21. It's like In'n'Outers and all their hidden menus and secret sauces. Meanwhile, in the Midwest. "Yeah, lemme get a Burger. Thanks." /leave
  22. and pasta and wtf/e a "carbonara" is
  23. Uh, yeah...lemme gettuh...grande flappa backflip Sasquatch in Purple, two pumps ambergris drizzle of painsauce, halfshake with a cap and a shot of bologna ...sir this is a Qdoba...
  24. Ah, the old D&D Regeneration/Fast Healing trait bypass "does not convert or heal the damage caused by starvation, exposure or other non-hit point based damage" Honestly, I'm not terribly impressed with the Nutrition mechanic, given the strength and number of enemies when you encounter them, you're either dead or the God of War. Two extra HP for eating a hunk of cheese with my porridge isn't going to change that.
  25. Hey man, if it stops me having to listen to this god awful noise, I'm for it.
