I'm still on 1.21.5, lol. I may update, someday...

I've been searching around my third base for all the things one would need to survive. Everything has been going great (even nickel, titanium, and chromite were close and abundant), but couldn't locate a source of black coal. Prospected all over a small island chain just west of the base, and had a low reading, but thought, why not. Started making my stairway down. 1st I came across borax. LOTS of borax. Cleaned that out, and brown coal was just a little ways under that. I'm pretty full up on brown coal, though, so I continued downward. More borax. Sure, I'll take that. Then quartz, just LOADED with silver and gold. Then readings for lead and kernite. Then limonite (oddly, just one lone block of bountiful. Found the rest shortly after fairly far away). Then tin, flourite, phosphorite, more borax, & BLACK COAL OUT THE WAZOO! (Also, oddly, no fire clay under it, but I have a bunch of that already). Made two trips on the boat so far, and headed out again because I'm still getting readings for pretty much everything! There were also readings for zinc, but have yet to come across it. Who knows what else I'll find, but so far this has been the single greatest dig I've had in 800 hours of gameplay!

Impossible to milk musk oxes because they are stressed
Nathan Flaminio replied to InternetDragon's topic in Questions
You can try petting them (right click with an empty hand) to calm them, or just hold down right click with a bucket to get milk (they should stop moving). They'll still run away until Gen 10, I believe. -
2 deep and 4 wide (at least 6 wide looks better, though) should work.

Default starting area, 10 years on waxed cheddar in winter, 5 in summer. I think next is soybeans, peanuts, and pickeled/cured at 3.5 years. Then grains at 1.7ish (might have been summer) Mushrooms go about 1/2 year.

Stettin/Wausau. I've been to Alma, planning to visit again for the Castlerock Museum. Was just down the road a ways this last summer at the Prairie Moon Sculpture Garden and Merrick State Park.

/worldconfig globalTemperature [0-5] I set mine to .9 as an attemp to get closer to Wisconsin weather. I think it worked pretty well.

Or looking up in the sky at night and seeing the universe. I wonder if they'll ever add comets...

I thought it would be nice to have varying light level increases for lanterns depending on the type of liner (Silver 21, Gold, 22, Electrum 24), but can't seem to find where those things are in the files. I found lanterns. I've found metal plates. I've found overall light levels, but not the thing that connects these together or whatever would allow me to adjust those levels. Anybody know where to find what I'm looking for?

I think they have a 10-block detection range, even through walls.

Having your chickens that close to the house will scare them off their boxes everytime you get near (even inside the house). You may want to build a separate area farther away to get them to hatch eggs and increase their generations more quickly.

I'd like to see a wheeled cart and sled that can be pulled by the elk, as well as an airship.

New player looking for tips regarding: Early-game Food
Nathan Flaminio replied to Telios's topic in Questions
Yes, you are supposed to forage and hunt/fish a lot early game. Mushrooms and berries are (generally) an abundant food source.- 30 replies

Why is my clay storage vessel speeding up spoiling speed?
Nathan Flaminio replied to SevaSalvia's topic in Questions
It's the crude door, I think. Try walling it off with dirt or hay bales and see if that works. -
Why can you no longer smelt ingots?
Nathan Flaminio replied to Professor Dragon's topic in Questions
You can chisel the ingots back into nuggets in the crafting grid. -
I've never paid attention to how much time it takes for them to regrow, but have quite a lot of trees marked and have harvested from them several times a year. Maybe once a week, or once or twice a month? It's about the same amount of time it takes the pine trees to produce more resin, I think. (30 day months, time-flow halved)

I'd love to have functioning clocks in the game! Timeline-wise, they fit the narrative, as far as I know. They'd be aesthetically pleasing, and add something else to build that you don't have to have, but would be nice to own.

I didn't know you could make calcinated flint in a bloomery. That's good information to have, thank you!
