Clinic1993 Posted September 16, 2023 Report Posted September 16, 2023 It feels like it misses a little bit of live in the game, i mean villages and cities. it would be awesome if there would be a mod like minecolonies from Minecraft where you can populate and run your little village, hire constructors and guards, have restaurants, all in the aesthetic of vintage story. It would be awesome... 1 1
Maelstrom Posted September 18, 2023 Report Posted September 18, 2023 I'm sure this kind of thing can be modded until Tyron gets to implementing a more robust human population to the world.
Omega Haxors Posted September 19, 2023 Report Posted September 19, 2023 (edited) The problem with games that give you unlimited freedom and an exploitation-based gameplay loop is that once you add intelligent people to the mix you get stuff like As cool is it would be to add, I doubt many people here want to bring colonialism to the table. EDIT: Uhm, hey forum developers, you think you could tone down the size of youtube thumbnails a little...? Edited September 19, 2023 by Omega Haxors 1
Thorfinn Posted September 19, 2023 Report Posted September 19, 2023 Please tell me he's being ironic. Bringing villagers from around the world to live in your society is kind of the opposite of colonialism, assuming that was even a bad thing. Coming up on a million views. I can only hope it's mostly people like me who got suckered into it, not that there are that many people so messed up that they really believe that, for example, bears and wolves are just misunderstood and want to be our friends, that Mother Gaia really loves us, if we will just listen to her. "Nature, red in tooth and claw" means exactly that. 1
Tektite Posted August 7, 2025 Report Posted August 7, 2025 The colonialism argument is silly in the same way that the videogames cause violence argument is silly. Just because the player is technically incentivized to engage in colonialist behaviors doesn't mean they have fantasies of being Christopher Columbus. What would the point of a sandbox game be if you are not improving the land around you? Do we have to watch the ethics of our actions in a game now? Is it bad that most gamers enjoy progressing in skill, game state, or their vision for their personal world? 1
hstone32 Posted August 10, 2025 Report Posted August 10, 2025 Just ignore it. Some certain types have decided to make "colonial" their big bad boogeyman word. They'll find a different fixation in a year or two. 1
Krougal Posted August 10, 2025 Report Posted August 10, 2025 Damn necromancers! Don't feed the trolls commies!
