Never Jhonsen Posted February 16, 2025 Report Posted February 16, 2025 (edited) So I've done all of Chapter 2 that I know of, got the Translocator schematic and part, went home, and built the Rickety Translocator. I was given the impression that all I would have to do is place it, and it would send me to Tobias' cave. So I built a room for it, placed it down, stood on it, and waited to be teleported. While the translocater did spin up, I did not get teleported anywhere. I tried standing inside it for a full 60 seconds, I tried going into Creative Mode to break//replace it, and even tried relogging, but to no avail. It's been about a real world month since I did all the Chapter Two adventures, so I may be forgetting something, but as it stands I don't remember anything else that I could be missing. I also haven't been able to find any information about it either online; no posts on the forum, nothing in the handbook (asides the crafting recipe), nor a page about it on the wiki. Is there something I'm missing, or is my save just not going to let me use a rickety translocator? Edited February 16, 2025 by Never Jhonsen

Solution LadyWYT Posted February 17, 2025 Solution Report Posted February 17, 2025 Teleport yourself to Tobias's Cave via commands, then try the teleporter from his side. It was a little janky when I was messing around with it, but as I recall that got the teleporter link to function correctly.

New world, 1.20.4 - my first translocator repair and it doesn't teleport me anywhere, just as Never Jhonsen describes for their Rickety Translocator. I came here to see if the process for repairing translocators had changed, but maybe this is a bug? eta: Yeah, definitely a bug. Logged out, came back and it was fine. Same thing happened with the return trip translocator - wouldn't teleport me until I exited the game and came back. Edited February 17, 2025 by dakko

That worked I set myself to Creative, teleported to his place, went back to Survival, then used his Translocator to first go home, and then back to his cave. Thanks for the suggestion! 2

I tried to break it, I tried right klick, I removed the surrounding blocks but it's just flying there now... I guess it should be possible to pick it up? Edited June 22, 2025 by Zandramas

Q_Tip Posted July 15, 2025 Report Posted July 15, 2025 For me its a recurring thing. When I load up, it does not work. Just spin. If I teleport to Tobias, use teleporter there - it work both ways after that. 1

I thought it had been fixed in a recent patch, but I could be mistaken.
