j3llyfizh Posted March 14, 2025 Report Posted March 14, 2025 just a question abt room requirements, are the missing exterior corner blocks preventing my house from meeting room requirements? the debug command shows up as red for walls to thin. i also have one roofs installed so idk if thats causing it (ignore the amongi im not funny)
Maelstrom Posted March 14, 2025 Report Posted March 14, 2025 Walls have to have at least 50% of the voxels to count as an insulating block. Basically, walls have to be at least a slab. 2
j3llyfizh Posted March 14, 2025 Author Report Posted March 14, 2025 so does that mean that glass panes dont count? cuz i dont have any chiselled walls
Zane Mordien Posted March 14, 2025 Report Posted March 14, 2025 It depends on which way the slab is turned. I forget which way is right but just play with it. I use the hud clock mod which tells you when the game registers it as a room. I suggest that at least while you try to figure it out.
j3llyfizh Posted March 14, 2025 Author Report Posted March 14, 2025 ill have to mess around in creative mode or smth then cuz i didnt use any slabs or anything which means its probably a mod issue
Thorfinn Posted March 15, 2025 Report Posted March 15, 2025 The most common mistakes I see after chiseling is slabs set backwards, having shingles/roof but no ceiling, being more than 14 in one dimension, and using the wrong kind of door. I don't know anything about the OneRoof mod, but I'd be surprised if it removed the roof and ceiling requirement. 1
Maelstrom Posted March 15, 2025 Report Posted March 15, 2025 I have no problem with slabs on the "inside" or "outside" of the block I'm building a wall on. Shingle blocks in the past have caused problems though. 1
j3llyfizh Posted March 15, 2025 Author Report Posted March 15, 2025 i think this must be a mod/algotrith issue or smth so i guess im just sleeping "outside." it looks like it has something to do with the room not being within chunk borders and even when i block off the probably too big part of my house the boundaries for it are weird i blocked off the tower thingy in this screen shot and even when i block off the section on the right it still doesnt work. none of the roof blocks are exposed on the inside either so i have no idea whats happening.

However if you're using fancy doors from the furniture trader, these doors do not seal the room. Same goes for trapdoors — if you see the holes, they won't seal. Aslo, try covering the roof from the inside with stairs — I've heard that that might be the issue too. If you're planning to buind a windmill on top of this tower, prepare for the fact that the axils won't allow you to seal the room properly. I'm covering all of the machinery with 2x2 doors for that purpose, sooo yeah, doors go brrr. Hope that will help. 1
Solution j3llyfizh Posted March 22, 2025 Author Solution Report Posted March 22, 2025 Alright the issue was half the tower just made the room too big but the other part was accidentally chiselled blocks, the issue tho is that they werent actually chiselled into (all voxels intact) so i think it might be a chisel tools bug
