The singular animal I most want added right now are mountain lions. I Think it'd be really cool to be quietly stalked in the mountains or even at the edges of them...never knowing you were prey until they pounced. Would definitely spice up the usual "wolf" and "bear" predator loop. And I love big cats!

Birds. They would undoubtedly add the most to the game. The ambiance of birds chirping on a sunny day, making rainy days more impactful at their absence. Mornings being greeted with the call of mourning doves. The hoot of an owl keeping the world alive at night. Ducks and geese peacefully floating across the water. All of which would add an immense amount of life and immersion to the world.

I'd also love for them to add crickets at night. Similar to the current grasshoppers.

Horses, donkeys, mules, camels and some deepened mount mechanic to differetiate them such as walk speed or carriage capacity

Once the terrain is wider and flatter having actual carriages and horses pulling them would make me feel even more dapper 🧐

i want duckies please, they will look lovely in my pond

We need ducks sooo bad as farm animal additions. I want to hear little quacks in the morning.

And go hunting when it becomes duck season specifically

Frogs and toads, I love them

Going frog hunting during rainy days would be very relaxing.

I can also imagine hunting in the tropics for poison dart frogs so you can poison your arrow tips. And who doesn't like a good toad here and there?

When they add birdies, I want them to add bird feeders too- so we can attract certain birds around our area and by extension have some sort of control over the little bird songs we hear the most often. I'd make sure to fill up my feeders with a specific seed every day to attract black-capped chickadees or cardinals.

Maybe add squirrels and chipmunks as well, to give hawks and owls extra food. Also, because squirrels and chipmunks are awesome....until you start trying to feed birds specifically

Horses. Because I like horses and it doesn't quite feel right without them.

And who doesn't love horse breeding and horse races and horse race gambling? Multiplayer servers would love it!

Also horse carts/wagons too, I need a more effecient way to pack up my belongings and move

Bird feeders, and bird baths would be a must!
I was gonna suggest squirrels as well, since it would be cool to see them run away, and climb up a tree to hide.

Also, just an FYI, you can quote multiple people in a single comment, so you don't spam the replies lol

Couldn't agree more, I really look forward to seeing d3d2d5dnrnNM's majestically sweep across the plains! 😛

Ok, so in terms of animals, I think birds are needed, they add so much to the environment just as a passive mob. What types of birds? Ohh... I can think of tons, from the ornate like a heron, think how cool it would be to find a heron spear fishing in a pond? Ducks! Dear lord, why is there no ducks already, if only for the unbelievably cute quack you could give them. Then there are all the song birds that make up the dawn chorus, whether as a 1-to-1 representation or just a generic birdsong environmental sound.

I think the water could be improved, just now it feels like that other block game before it updated it's underwater stuff. I've noticed more fish in ponds in the most recent updates, but making the edges of lakes and ponds feeling more lived in would be good, that is a natural transition of life IRL, so lots of bugs essentially, and I'm guessing frogs, toads, reptiles and the like.

As for 4 legged land animals, I think we've got things mostly covered. We have herbivores and carnivores of differing sizes (bear>wolf>fox // moose>goat>rabbit, for example), adding different variants would be good.

In terms of animals existing but not actually being rendered, I'd like for there to be flies and mosquito sounds when you are in a swamp area. While not an animal being added, I think it would add depth to the soundscape of those areas.

Yeah, there is no far from boat to a cart. I would love to travel like gandalf in Fellowship of the Ring on a cart with my all gear in a trunk and pipe in hand. It would be cool have some mount stamina system (e.g. Mounts get tired over time, the walk/run speed decreases. After 4k blocks the speed gets so low that you need to take a break. Then you need to feed the mount and wait up to 8 hours to fully regenerate the stamina), mount speed depending on soil type (e.g. camels faster on sand, elks on snow, horses on soil) and also mount powered mill / quern. Generally mounts have so much potential I hope devs will expand mount related mechanics

When they do add birds, they should update trees to have actual branches similar to the fruit trees so we can see tbem perch! That would be soooo cute. I wanna spy on Bluebirds, Cardinals, chickadees and woodpeckers!

Holy cow the amount of people saying "yet another predator" blow my mind...

I want some form of cow - aurochs, bison, oxen, etc - and some sort of cart-pulling animal like a donkey. I'd love to see a wheeled wagon, maybe it would only work on path or compressed dirt so it doesn't devalue the elk but it would feel great to go with a sledge or cart to go logging or mining.

That would add a whole new dimension to crop growing. How the heck do you keep squirrels out of the garden? Not to mention the way they 'plant' things (like walnuts from the neighbor a 1/4 mile away) amongst the blueberry bushes.
