Bulcher Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 Is it possible for bees to spawn in player grown trees? My world settings has fewer trees but the seeds sprout faster and with the fewer trees I'm having a hard time finding bees I have search out 2k tiles in every direction, and am still looking.

No. Bees are extremely common, but can be extremely difficult to find, based on your audio settings. If there were only visible clues, I would pretty much never find bees. IME, the bee sound uses somewhat wonky directional audio that can be very hard to detect. I had to turn off music, increase game volume quite a bit (at a low game volume, I can't hear them) and tone down environmental effects (e.g. flowing water). I'm now finding a huge amount of wild bee hives. Unless you have a tiny amount of trees, chances are, there are quite few bee hives in your 2000 tile radius. Edited January 8 by pigfood 1

Welcome to the forums(and the game)! Like @pigfood already noted, bees will not spawn in player planted trees. Two thousand blocks is quite a wide search area though, so unless you got really unlucky with the world generation(it does happen) there's probably a beehive or two somewhere. You might want to try out Buzzwords in order to help you locate beehives, as the sound can be quite hard to notice sometimes. The mod is very lightweight, adds a text popup when you get close to bees, and can be safely uninstalled at any time. https://mods.vintagestory.at/buzzwords 1
Bulcher Posted January 8 Author Report Posted January 8 Thank you both for the replies. I'll keep looking and give that mod a look.

I'm up to 3 mods, lol (the others being my greenhouse mod, and the light level check for monster spawns).

I'd have never found them without this mod. They were pretty high up, haha. 1
