ronhin 375 Posted Monday at 03:12 PM Report Posted Monday at 03:12 PM when the stable release comes im gonna be able to press the update all button and get a bunch of new mod content instead of going through and making sure that all are good for 1.21
Ampling Posted Monday at 10:36 PM Report Posted Monday at 10:36 PM Bought the game a few days ago without knowing an update was coming soon™ and the wait is PAINFUL! Since I want to stay in my world for a very very very long time (forever world-ish since the game is still in development of course), I'm just watching videos for now and not playing at all because I don't want to burn myself out by playing in worlds that would become "meaningless" to me in barely a few days/weeks. I just can't wait to go all in, survive, progress and make awesome builds with the chisel.

While the current iteration of 1.22 is still technically unstable, in my experience most of the major changes have been implemented and the major bugs fixed, so it's essentially on the final stages of polishing and not much is likely to change between now and a stable release. It should be stable enough to go ahead and start a new game in 1.22, without needing to create a new world when stable arrives and without encountering any particularly nasty bugs(although you never know).

How does the update process go for migrating from Testing Version to Stable Version once it hits? Just the regular orange notification at the top left asking me to update?

Broccoli Clock Posted Tuesday at 08:00 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 08:00 AM Yeah, this is the most annoying point of any development cycle. You know an update is coming and you want to enjoy it but you've not invested from the first RCs and at this point you are as well just waiting for the full stable build.

I would jump in on 1.21 just to learn the game's systems and get through the initial frustrations... learn how to deal with bears, wolves, bowtorn, the handbook and what the biomes look like and offer. Do this knowing that the world is temporary... start a bunch of times to see what the world gen options do... That way when 1.22 stable comes out you have something fresh and exciting to fire up and you've some experience under your belt. Enjoy
LadyWYT Posted Tuesday at 05:01 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 05:01 PM Well...in other news, stable released today, so now you don't have to wait! 2
Facethief Posted Tuesday at 05:11 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 05:11 PM Now you REALLY can’t wait for stable! (unless you just don’t download it or something…)

Edit: The update on Friday did seem to actually come out on Friday. So prospects are good, maybe Flathub is the limiting factor. (i use nobara btw) Edited Tuesday at 09:05 PM by LtDonDraper
