Ceramic oil lamps have a new model, and are no longer made from bowls. They can also now be hung from the ceiling

How do you hang them from the ceiling? It just keeps saying that I need a solid block there. Wall placement works fine, however.

Beyond that, loving the new update. Fishing in games always tickles something for me and I am greatly enjoying the new berry bush rework. It was trivial to just grab every bush you saw and plop it down outside your house and have berries forever. Very happy to see that cultivating them is a thing now. And with the new traits, perhaps a breeding system for plants in the future? 👀

Add flax oil, I have 4 fields full of flax and the animals cant keep up with eating that thing. Also a cauldron for making a huge amounts of meals(or candles) would be great

You can create an ungodly amount of compost out of all the flax.   Turn into dough then let it rot.   1 dought yields 1 rot.  If you have enough bones you can make terra preta from scratch without any high fert soil.

I'm getting a weird thing where the game runs normally and then suddenly acts like it's hanged for 15 s or so, and then goes back to normal. So far it has not crashed.

I loaded up my save and it immediately froze briefly. I noticed that when it did this something flashed in the top right of the screen when things started moving again. I exited and checked the logs. I have these things at that time:

server-debug.log

28.4.2026 18:28:48 [Debug] armorstand-aged attempted to play an animation code which its shape does not have: "idle"

server-main.log

28.4.2026 18:28:49 [Warning] Server overloaded. A tick took 1442ms to complete.

client-main.log:

28.4.2026 18:28:50 [Notification] Loaded Shaderprogramm for render pass rift.

client-debug.log:

28.4.2026 18:28:50.074 [VerboseDebug] Starting initialising handbook

28.4.2026 18:28:50.195 [VerboseDebug] Done handling playerdata packet

I have no idea if any of this is related but will check the logs again next time it decides to check out for a moment.

Edit:  Did it again, nothing looked weird in the logs except this in server-main.log:

29.4.2026 07:13:56 [Notification] Huh. Found air block in rain map at chunk pos 15966/16018. That seems invalid, will regenerate rain map
29.4.2026 07:15:14 [Warning] Server overloaded. A tick took 4904ms to complete.

The aged armor stand and a a mouflon lamb earlier tried animations they didn't have, but that seemed not to be a problem.

Now they nerfed the flax, it barely gives any seeds and gives only 1/2 the amount of linen. Flax god is angry

Thanks for this update. It is huge! Lots of great features.

I've just spent about 40 game  hours in a new world, and many of the new features such as the berry bush redesign and the addition of fishing are immediately noticeable.

Loving also the QOL improvements that are throughout.

Looking forward to progressing to water wheels, new metal working and so on.

Love the new traders. It makes so much more sense that they have static bases, rather than caravans that didn't move. Much more detail. Great designs. Won't add spoilers, as people should discover these on their own.

Some things I noticed:

  • Can't eat meals in a Trader home, as it is a protected space, so the normal right click a meal bowl (if pointed at a block - which is most directions) gives the message that it is a protected space. You probably should be able to eat there - unless they are very fussy about crumbs.
  • Not all Traders have an accessible chest or bed, I don't think (???). Intentional(?).
  • Should some Traders have a weather protected room? Maybe Luxury Traders (for examples) shouldn't have wind whistling through.
  • Fishing line cast animation is smooth and satisfying. However, there is no "retract" animation. It would be nice to have one. Coming?

Anyway, having a lot of fun. Thanks VS team.

Yes, there definitely needs to be an intermediate level of protection where ground placement is allowed while block placement isn't. That would help in the Resonance Archives too for coal management.

Agree.
For the Resonance Archive, banning ground storage means that anti-rust monster explosives can't be used, and you can't place a crock down (can eat from inventory, and can use the kitchen).  I understand they don't want block breaking, or torch placing, but still it seems out of place to move from a "you can change anything game" to "nothing can be changed, not even clearing rubble."

Practically, I am not particularly squeamish about entering Creative Mode when needed. For example, if there is a Trader whose door is blocked by trees in the past, then I'll move to Creative to clear a path. I could use the same approach to conduct "repairs" on the Traders now, for example. Hole in the roof, Guv? Fixed it for you. Now how about I use this 'ere chest of yours?

PSA: Pick a bowl from inventory and click it on a filled crockpot. Also pies now able to be cut in crafting grid. I cut them beforehand anyway, since a stack of pie piececes is enough.
