tony Liberatto
I just think it makes no sense to punch the mold till it breaks, it is, after all, it a ceramic mold, it breaks easy. To avoid conflict, maybe with an empty hand?
tony Liberatto
Never got any feedback on this. Not sure what other players think. Also not sure how it would work codewise. I would change player made objects to be all pickable by shift right clicking with an empty hand. I think the breaking should be reserved for when we are actually breaking something like a log or a block,
Milo Christiansen
I like it. There certainly isn't any reason not to like it. It probably wouldn't even be hard to do, knowing what I know about the mod API. This would be a lot simpler than that mod for moving chests and such @copygirl made. Stroam
You can already right-click molds to release the item you poured when it's ready. For moving molds, I don't mind punching them.
tony Liberatto
Yeah, I know. I just think is one more step into realism, and is something that does not change gameplay it just adds immersion. It really makes no sense to punch something made of clay, raw or burned. Tyron
I have a few resverations towards it. You use right mouse to pour hot metal into the molds, so something would need to be done to prevent you picking up the mold while pouring. Neither workaround I can think of seems particularly elegant.
tony Liberatto
What about just requiring an empty hand? After all, when pouring you have the crucible in your hand.
Tyron
Oh, yea, that I can do. Empty hand or clay mold of same type in hands, i suppose, so you can stack 'em. Adding now.
copygirl
I'll note that the same doesn't work for, say, ignots, which you place using shift-rightclick. Might lead to confusion / controls feeling muddy.
Tyron
I made it so that you can only pick up while not holding shift/sneak. General rule is: Place while sneaking, pickup while standing.
tony Liberatto
So, empty hand right click to pick up a mold or ingot if there is an ingot in the mold. Shift right click to place a mold. Would that work?

tony Liberatto
I would really like that. I know is just my OCD, and it does not actually change the gameplay. It just bothers me to punch and break a ceramic mold just to pick it up.
Milo Christiansen
Since I always place my molds just before a pour, and pick them up right after, the ability to quickly collect them will be a big deal for me.
