l33tmaan
This is a pretty minor question, but it just feels weird to wear 4 backpacks at once. Why not just have a single bag slot that has more significant differences between items? You could just make a hand basket with 12 slots that costs 40 cattails instead of making 4 hand baskets for the same effect. It's not an issue or anything, I just find it a puzzling design decision. The only argument I can see for it is that you can go from 0-3-6-9-12 slots instead of straight from 0-12.
Stroam
It looked good on the slot bar
Maxwell Ellington
I think many players would return the game if they say the first item they needed took 40 reds to craft. Slow and steady progress is generally more fun, especially when the first read basket can be used while you look for more reeds, making the start of the game a little easier. l33tmaan
Really? I just make a flint knife and collect cattails until it breaks, which always gives me enough to make 4 baskets. At worst, maybe you make another knife? I liked Stroam's answer more.
redram
The fact you can wear 4 backpacks is just one of those minor immersion things that hasn't been addressed yet, like being able to handle white hot metal with your hands. Eventually you'll only be able to wear 1 'backpack'.
l33tmaan
You make it sound like we're going to need to wear gloves when doing serious smithing.
