Xandyr1978 Posted March 28, 2024 Report Posted March 28, 2024 Ummmm...do you do tutorials? I would LOVE to learn how to do this...
Andre Oberländer Posted March 31, 2024 Author Report Posted March 31, 2024 (edited) Well unfortnatly i am not very talented with making Videos but i can give all Player the advise to find a real life Image you like and try to make it. For better preparation drawing a scheme on a checkerboard paper often helps. Plan than materials and start making the almost unchiseled house. Add decoration than later. for example my Warehouse was this picture: the Middle Building with the white stripes. For comparison here the partly finished version from myself: Its not 1 to 1 copied but an idea for making somethink. Im not that good in making the exact copy of somethink and in some points its not possible (or you need to make it bigger but than its damn to much work) and i can really recommend the Workbench mod played long without it but copying the same over and over is pretty tidious. Unfortnatly i dont have the Paper drawing anymore but it wasnt very detailed. Edited June 28, 2024 by Andre Oberländer 2
xXx_Ape_xXx Posted April 1, 2024 Report Posted April 1, 2024 A very good tip, and something I use myself when I build stuff in my world
Andre Oberländer Posted April 10, 2024 Author Report Posted April 10, 2024 (edited) Second example i saw a Bee drawed by a child at the Street i made a Picture with my Phone than i made a drawing at a piece of paper: Endresult is this Sign below. Edited June 28, 2024 by Andre Oberländer 3
Xandyr1978 Posted April 12, 2024 Report Posted April 12, 2024 This is awesome! How many in-game blocks is that? The perspective is throwing me off a little bit.
Andre Oberländer Posted April 12, 2024 Author Report Posted April 12, 2024 (edited) i always draw my pictures 1x1 so 1 checkered tile is 1/16 of a block. you can easy count 8cm x8cm is 1 block you chisel. You see the small Cross in the middle? its the center arround 4 blocks. Edited April 12, 2024 by Andre Oberländer
bluespruce786 Posted June 7, 2024 Report Posted June 7, 2024 Wow! Thanks for taking the time to share these. Really inspiring and beautiful work there!
RetroTekGuy Posted June 8, 2024 Report Posted June 8, 2024 The sheep pen alone is better than anything I've ever built. This is insanely good
Andre Oberländer Posted June 9, 2024 Author Report Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) First sayed thanks for the responses it let me return to my VS Story Map from time to time Hi guys! Here i have a small Update: I am not very satisfied with my honey farm spot: (atm 2 stoneblocks and on top are the beehives) For that reason i planed in the past a small fence beehive gardens with 4 trees the behives will be in planted Tree at the sides of the Treelogs in all four directions. And i made a Bench for sitting on in it aswell. For that piece of furniture i have a detailed Paperdrawing (beware its most of the time not 100% accurate) I made it in about 1,5 Hours so it isnt that fancy and drawing costed me about 1/3 of the time. First Picture Bench Front, Second is from the Side. (and a roughly planned shape of the Beehivegarden) Third ingame Bench. Here the Garden Area with Shield: on the left you see the primitive beehive Spots quite ugly but did the job very long time. (and the small Building is a very small bakery nit very fancy aswell but didnt was in a modd to replace it ^^# Last Picture with a small angle: The Trees arent grown jet so no small platform chiseling yet: Edited June 28, 2024 by Andre Oberländer 2
Andre Oberländer Posted June 19, 2024 Author Report Posted June 19, 2024 HIHo you remember this old Picture? i reworked the Mill a bit but i must confess at the time i had to make the roof i was burned out on it so i chiseled a simple roof on it that doesnt please me well at least better than before. 4
Andre Oberländer Posted June 22, 2024 Author Report Posted June 22, 2024 (edited) So i am done for now with my Windmill: Updated the Roof a bit now its decend. Than i added 4 Lanterns beneath the balkony heres 2 pictures of it. And i forgot i had an old rectangle chicken coop underground. I decided i chisel it a bit so its decend to look at it. The 2 small sections with the stairs arent done yet. Edited June 22, 2024 by Andre Oberländer 3 1 1
StCatharines Posted June 22, 2024 Report Posted June 22, 2024 Wow. I am practically speechless at the incredible work you've put in on that windmill, that's simply phenomenal! 1
Andre Oberländer Posted June 25, 2024 Author Report Posted June 25, 2024 (edited) Here a small update: I never posted my starthouse (i first made) it isnt that fancy but okey i guess. Edited June 28, 2024 by Andre Oberländer 2
Grummsh Posted June 26, 2024 Report Posted June 26, 2024 Dude i cant with You! Starterhouse? Mine is always made with packed dirt etc maybe occasional cobblestone no chiselwork and You come in here with this fancy stuff Great looking one man! Need to spend some time chiseling and make some nice stuff myself 1
Thorfinn Posted June 26, 2024 Report Posted June 26, 2024 Agreed, @Grummsh When I bother with a starter home, it usually has at least one wall being a cliff face I've built against. Or walled off caves. I've even done them in dense forests where the standing trees are a significant fraction of the walls. Though since I tend to build my starter home quite late, they often have the trunks, lightning rods, lanterns, windows, etc. that the @Andre Oberländer starter home has. 1

Yeah I tend to do the same - i usually start near a cliff or something and dig into it a bit so i have to build less Usually near body of water for early reeds and farms. Ive never had trees as a part of my hut Must try with reddwoods maybe some time 1
Andre Oberländer Posted June 27, 2024 Author Report Posted June 27, 2024 well the Area of the House location was in the past a small lake. and the lakes between the House was one bigger. It was the first proper House i dont call logblocks in tent shape against a wall a house . But it was the first House i would call a House. 1 1
Maelstrom Posted June 27, 2024 Report Posted June 27, 2024 My first home tends to be a hole in a clay deposit that slowly expands. 2 1
Andre Oberländer Posted April 10, 2025 Author Report Posted April 10, 2025 Here a small update: i planned another House: it should be a new bakery. the second floor is a bit sterile for my taste. Atm i have only problem in accsess to my slatemine because new mobs are a bit stronger i noticed... and i didnt play for a while so my gambeson steel sword combo isnt good enough for it anymore And i should build an beehivekiln for my clay needs. Finding red clay on and that old map would be another goal but quite hard to achieve 6
Evoken Posted April 11, 2025 Report Posted April 11, 2025 Awesome work! Do you use any mods? If so then how do you update your world? Or maybe you're staying on one version? ^^ I'm also trying to stay on one world for a longer time (maybe a forever-world:D) Currently im only 40 hours in, maybe in the future I will share some of my works too
