  1. Did you happen to have updated any drivers recently? Like gpu drivers?
  2. More Lovecraft/Howard/Smith-type monsters would be so badass. Drive you mad just looking at them.
  3. Dang, that actually made my hair stand
  4. This may be a bit less relevant to the current tangent of the discussion, but there was one occasion I had a pretty hearty lunch, then went to do some serious physical labour (hauling boxes up and down stairs), and 5 hours later I got some serious hunger pangs. My first thought was "dang, VS is pretty realistic after all" lol.

    Clay troughs

Yeah this feels right. Clay troughs of the same size as their wooden counterparts would be heavier, and as such, I expect they should be smaller to compensate for their density per volume unit.
  6. I really like the modularity of Tinker's Construct tools, among its other features. The fact that you can craft certain stone age tools with bone in VS gives me hope that we'll see more of such modularity in the future.
  7. Thanks for this mod, @Rhonen. A simple but stylish and helpful little addition

    Modular Stove

Anything that makes the game more like an immersive sim (e.g., Arx Fatalis, Ultima Underworld) gets my vote!
  9. You should be able to. When you open the campfire window and press E, your inventory will pop up. Might there potentially be an app that's interfering with the game, say an antivirus or firewall software?
  10. This is a horror game masquerading as a survival crafting game! One of the scariest moments for me was when I was mining for tin. I dug a tunnel at around y=70, broke my pickaxe, then went back home to get another one. I returned to the tunnel, rounded a corner, and a deep drifter popped right into my face. I yelled and almost bumped my laptop off the laptop cooler LOL. There was none of the grunting to warn me that he was actually lurking there. What was your scariest moment in-game?
  11. Not an occurrence today, but rather a week ago. Still thought it was wild enough that I absolutely have to share it with everyone. I was foraging in the forest when I saw a trail of dead animals killed by another animal. Didn't hear a wolf though, so I trod cautiously. Suddenly, as I crossed a crest, I saw a big brown object ahead stand on its hind legs. Bears! I didn't bring my spears, so I ran home to get it. I figured, good we're going to get some bushmeat for the next few days. With my spears in hand, I ran back. The bear was gone. Welp, I figured that was that and continued to forage. My wife, who was doing some work next to me, was asking me something. I got momentarily distracted as I turned to talk to her, and I swear, right at the moment when I turned back to face the screen, the bear jumped out from around a tree, mauling my character. I screamed, my wife screamed because I screamed, and we both spent the next 1 minute laughing about it.

    Clay troughs

It would be nice to be able to make a trough out of clay. In a way, planters are troughs themselves, but it's a pity we cannot use them to store food for animals. I imagine that's how people living in certain more backward societies would do it in place of using wood
  13. Darn it, that's a bummer to know. Hope they implement bowl to crock pot transfers!
  14. Yeap tried that with an empty crock pot. Didn't work. Right clicking just picked up the meal bowl. I think it might be a glitch?
  15. I enjoyed it a lot for the first 10 or so hours, then realised the best strategy was to stay hidden in tall grass and terrain obstacles. Squad control might as well be non-existent, and there are still things in the base game yet to be fixed. For $5, it was worth the hours of enjoyment I clocked in, but I can't see myself going back to it anytime soon. It's just too janky.
  16. I started on VS because I was tired of Minecraft's directionless updates. A lot seemed arguably added on a whim, and it's fine that people enjoy these things, but it wasn't for me. I started playing Minecraft before Survival was even a thing, got hooked on to it even more after Mojang added Survival, and over the years have clocked in thousands of hours (of which at least half were from modpacks). I enjoyed it greatly for the survival, exploration, and creative processes, but without a cohesive vision, I began to lose interest. The last straw was hearing about the random banning of accounts. Thankfully, someone on another forum mentioned VS and I'm really glad for it. It had everything I wanted from a block punching game, reminding me of the good times I had with TechnicPack and Feed The Beast. It took some getting used to, but I appreciated the changes, even ones that I thought would get on my nerves (like knapping). I don't think VS is perfect in its current implementation, but it's definitely what I'll go to if I need to knock some blocks and build fancy houses, so I hope the team doesn't compromise on its vision.
  17. Hiya, I was trying to transfer one of my meals from a bowl to a crock pot but wasn't able to. I put the crock pot down and clicked RMB with the bowl of meal in hand, but it just picked up the crock pot. Tried Ctrl + RMB and Shift + RMB too but nothing worked. Are meals only transferrable from cooking pot to crock pot?
  18. Hey all, first post here! I was thinking about this too. I really like how animals are more dynamic here than in that other block game, but not too fond that there are fixed spawn points for certain animals like wolves. It'd be nice to have nests, dens and such which you could destroy to cull animal populations in regions where they are denser. This would also make home-building more viable in forest areas, when it's evident no more hostile animals are in sight.
