[ENG] I'm looking for 3-5 teammates to start over when 1.21 is out and complete all story locations (hasn't been at any but the first one yet). Servers with population over 8 or expansion plans are a hard pass. Approximate planned mod list in the end of the post. Suggestions and corrections are welcome within reason. Mods list Must have: Might have:

We need a simple way to copy chiseled blocks. From my experience, the most common issue with chiseling is mass production: fences, baseboards, windows, chains, carvings, you name it. At the moment only two mods (AFAIK) allow that: Workbench expansion, broken and presumably abandoned, and Chisel Tools, cluttered with a ton of unnecessary stuff and huge bug potential. I think we desperately need an option for those who just want to copy their chiseled blocks without the game breaking every single update and a ton of new items and tools they won't ever use.

With "Workbench expansion" presumably dead and "Chisel Tools" being a bit too powerful and overcluttered I think it's time to revive this suggestion. Any kind of copying possibility would be an immense help.

Your tactics sound reasonable, but almost inapplicable in the dense forest. You can neither spot a wolf in time, nor - quite often - run away from one. I know, I know. Avoid dense forests until you have decent armor and weapon. But sticks are so abundant there... Btw, this combo of 90% protection + random slots + (and I just noticed it today) the fact that shield is hard to aim when enemy is below you at least one block might also make a difference here... I will pay more attention to the encounters conditions when possible.

Yes, it's a crude shield, you are correct. But I notice the hard distinction when it does and doesn't work in the similar situations. Attacking wolf is far enough: shield gets damage, I get mild damage. Attacking wolf is in my char model: shield gets no damage, I get full damage. That's basically what I'm saying. I know it would not work as good as a steel shield would, and I know armor and good weapons are better protection than a crude shield. The problem is: I don't have steel, or any other metal for that matter save for copper, and I definitely don't have leather or linen in enough quantity to make armor out of it. So I just want the shield to work at least as it is supposed to. At least it works with bighorns, as apparently they do damage as soon as they touch you (i.e. ram you), and thus the shield absorbs the damage. Small consolation, but it's something.

As I mentioned: I'm facing head-on and using active block. And it works: if the wolf is far enough. But if it clips through the shield, the damage comes in full, no matter where I face or do I use active stance or not. On the bright side: I do not need a better shield, as this one does not get damaged in battle. It survived 5 fights with wolves with only a tiny dent... I didn't, though.

I'm facing them and I do active block. Does nothing to stop them. They still shove their head behind my shield and inflict full damage. I'm fairly sure that shield has a physical model and should be between your model and attackers model (otherwise it would hardly work with directions). And as wolf model is virtually inside your model, shield does nothing unless you are extremely lucky. This is never the issue with drifters and locusts, for example, which strengthens my suspicions.

Hey, have a question to all shield-wielders: how does it help you? For me wolves tend to just clip their heads into me and bypass my shield altogether. Same with moose and basically any four-legged enemy.

Hey, sorry for the dumb question, but: did I get it right that we can start playing 1.20 rc now and safely (relatively safely) go on when 1.20 stable comes out? Like if I'm planning a very slow-paced development and expect to hit lore content about the time it reaches stable release. I understand that anything might happen and realize the risks, I'm asking about the current consensus.

Found this topic while looking for kind of the same thing. I don't really care much about new ways of forming clay or speeding things up, but what always bugged me is that missing crucial step of drying clay before firing. It adds a whole new level of complexity for clay working: you suddenly require big flat sheltered spaces for drying your pottery before shoving it into the kiln. It will both make the process a lot more realistic and transform a pottery workshop from a clay chest + hole in the ground to a real meaningful place. With the new beehive kiln coming in 1.20 I feel that clay works need just a tad more love to become perfect.

Stranger92 started following Support Beams removal — known issue?
-
I wonder why no one tackled this topic here before (I tried searching for quite a while, but found only a dead reddit topic), but let it be me then. Why support beams are so hard to remove? Sometimes it's completely impossible to target a placed beam. I know the tricks that kinda "facilitate" the process (axe or empty hands, try to avoid looking at another block through a beam, etc.), but sometimes it is impossible still. I don't say support beams should work flawlessly, they are still a relatively new feature. But shouldn't the problem be at least mentioned somewhere?.. Especially with the Cave In system in place?

Did you resolve your cow-pocalispe? We've just added this mod to our server and experiencing the same issue. Don't want to break anything, but it's getting spooky.

Hey! I saw a question asked on December 17, 2021 about recipe "noodles + water" giving no effect in the cooking pot, while it should according to manual. There was no response to this specific bug and right now we encounter the same issue: "Hot Pasta" recipe not working as described. Any idea on was it ever fixed?
