I did the same thing to myself recently. I have no idea what combo of buttons i hit but it screwed up my resolution. I had to delete my settings file to fix it. It's not the best answer but it does fix the problem.

Beginner with dedicated servers , need help customising world
Zane Mordien replied to Dingus_Khan's topic in Questions
Several options that I know: 1. You can edit the server configuration file before the world is generated. You can set the seed and any other configuration that you can do in the single player world set up. Its pretty obvious when you open the text file. Just ask on the forums or discord what some of the settings mean if in doubt. Some of the text doesn't exactly match the single player configuration wording. 2. Start a single player world and then load that on the server. This is the easier way if you have the option. 3. If you can't do 1 or 2 then load into the world and set the world configuration commands manually and then regen the chunks that are already loaded. I can give better details on this when I'm sitting in front of my computer. There may be other ways that someone else can post but these are the ways I know. -
I thought he meant that but a creative map is flat with nothing on it. I think he would have had to start a survival world and go into creative to have a "map" worth playing. I feel like there was something missing in this question.

Beginner with dedicated servers , need help customising world

Are you asking about what settings to use for a world with oceans or what commands to use to set them? There are the settings I have, but it still may not be perfect for a world with oceans. "landcover": "0.7", "oceanscale": "1.25", (Anything more than this and I just had nothing but islands) "upheavelCommonness": "0", "landformScale": "1.2", -
In the Tyron's interview he said they are still thinking about making mass a thing along with the current volume restriction, so putting a container on your back is not going to happen in my opinion. Being able to pick something up with both hands and move it around though needs to be a thing. I hate when I'm trying to rearrange my base and realize I put my storage in the wrong spot.

The axe will cut the branches faster than punching, but it destroys the axe pretty quick. I use the axe method when I get stick of punching or just want them faster.

That's why I typically use meteoric Iron for most tools. It comes right out of the bloomery as finished ingots without double handling and heating a single ingot at a time to finish it. I make only a little steel and only for very specific reasons.

Probably but until you try it, you never know what will happen. If it blows up the world then yup, start again. If not then winner winner chicken dinner!

Some questions concerning starting a server with a friend.
Zane Mordien replied to quihyr's topic in Questions
Good luck. White listing yourself has to be done as well before you can log into the server. If you are going to host the server locally in your network then it's really easy to start the world as a single player world and then copy it to the server. That way you can configure it like normal. Good luck! -
Meanwhile I'm burning down the forest and harvesting their corpses. I've seen male deer and not all male deer have antlers. I've killed many male deer that don't have antlers. Same with moose.

I thought the same thing about the mortar at first but the recipe makes a lot so that's not so bad. Steel isn't needed yet really so it's just optional. I only make it about 50% of the time. In thr future I'm sure it will be required but by that point it won't be as grindy as the future stuff..

You can also just use a command to change days per month in your current world.
-
Do you mean change from creative mode to survival? That is just /gm 1 as a command. If you want to recreate the same map in a new world copy the seed.

chiselling 50% Volume Requirement for Chiseled Blocks is Too Harsh
Zane Mordien replied to Yukio77's topic in Discussion
It's annoying I'm sure for people who love to chisel but when you think about, do you really need it to be a room or a greenhouse? Greenhouses aren't really required in the base game. You can grow so much food in the regular months that it isn't a real issue so I wouldn't worry about it so much and just create what your heart desires because in the end it just has to look cool. The green house function is only needed once you start living in colder climates where the growing season is much shorter and you need every day you can get to grow food. It's the same with rooms. I usually only worry about having one "room" in my house that the game recognizes. That's where I spend my time crafting in the winter months. The other rooms are just storage, decoration or the windmill/mechanical area. I don't hang out in those rooms. Maybe in the future they will make angled window or glass pieces to help out. Now that I would consider silly and needs fixed in the code.- 15 replies

Sounds like the issue where people bought the game from a fake website and you cannot connect to a multiplayer server because you can't be validated by the official master server. I'm not saying that is the case because you couldn't create an account here and post otherwise.

I've had it happen many times. Usually logging out and back in will fix it, but if not then yeah come back later and the trader will be there.

I wonder how hard it would be. It snows and your game has to keep up with that. Updating tree textures by season seems very similar.

I think your equator to polar distance is way to small. If you use the default settings it's 100K I think if every square is 20K, so 5K just doesn't scale well for the program I would imagine. Try something larger like 25K, that way every 5K would be a climate region.

Wasn't a stab since they were way to far away for that. I had the fences 2 blocks tall so it was greater than 1.8. In your screen shot it looks like you are between two solid blocks with fence in the middle. I was standing behind a wall of fences. Maybe that's a difference? I'll have to try it again sometime.

I had to add myself manually to the "playerswhitelisted.json" file or turn off the white list and add myself by the console command then turn it back on. It was really stupid that I was blocked from joining my own personal server. { "PlayerUID": "ENTERIDHERE", "PlayerName": "ZaneMordien", "UntilDate": "2075-01-19T23:59:18.4396958+00:00", "Reason": null, "IssuedByPlayerName": "Console" },

I spear them to death as well. Even as a blackguard it is pretty easy once you get the hang of aiming. The video is interesting but I would muck it up if I tried to dance around in circles with them and end up dead.
-
See my Avatar! Lots of spears. It probably spawned up on top of a mountain and came down. Someone can post the spawn code, but I'm pretty sure it's related to the average temperature of the area and on top of the mountain it is low enough.

Walls definitely block projectiles. I hear them thump on the walls when I stick my head out and duct back inside.

I always have an axe, shears and a shovel on my hotbar when traveling on the elk. Getting stuck in the trees is very annoying if I don't keep these tools. The shovel is for the occasional 4 block high wall in my path.
