  1. anymore. I'm an old player They change things in updates and I forget. "Even a lightning Rod" from Mischief of Mice "Smithing & Alloys! - How to Handbook Bit By Bit"
  2. That sounds like Radiance and Rust
  3. If you're making any metal object in the crafting grid, it should require solder. Metal needs a way to stick together. However, it's been a while since I've messed with copper on an anvil, but I think you can smith the lightning rod on an anvil. And with that method, you shouldn't need solder for it. This gives a use for all the surplus lead I have; you can only make so many leaded windows. Making solder be needed in more metal crafting recipes would make it more useful
  4. You're asking the same questions I've been trying to ask them for years. They don't respond to my quizzes, just chuckle a honk and ask if I would like to buy some food
  5. What is it with flying mechanics going corrupt in this game? Something's wrong with the air it seems. That'd be the second mechanical bird to go bad
  6. That sounds like a bug I have a lore book myself that, when I try to read it, says "You have already discovered this book" which =\ For those who don't know, you don't have to open your journal to read the lore, you can just keep that lore book you found and read that again. Which brings in the question of "What does it mean "I have already discovered this book"?" Are you not allowed to have two copies of the same book? I don't get it. Anyways, sounds like we both have bugged out books. It happens from time to time.
  7. I have reread what I posted and realized I came off as a snobby audiophile I promise I'm not. My $25 yard sale 7.1 sound system is not anything of worth, I only mentioned it to cover how I'm playing the game
  8. I think this might be a setup issue I've got sounds set to 100, and music to 50, and I haven't had any issues with it being imbalanced; I still hear the whole song, and it doesn't get overbearingly loud. "Radiance and Rust" in particular, I can still hear all the lows, without the highs being a killer in sound. While I do have a dedicated 7.1 sound system, I'll sometimes use a cheap USD$10 wired headphones with my setup for when my partner needs quiet, and the volume balance on both are fine with me (although that 7.1 sounds so much richer; those headphones are bass heavy with no top end).
  9. Another dragon here annoyed by both Plants and water in a valid room should always be calm and green.
  10. Hey, it's good to make sure you're clean after a poop. Last thing our Seraph would want is to fight with dysentery
  11. The chisel work on that forge is stunning how long did that take? Also, shout out for you for also having a charcoal storage pit I know putting it in a chest is more space efficient, but there's something about just reaching over and grabbing two pieces of charcoal from a large pile that really adds to the vibe
  12. I recommend your first ever world to be with all default presets, no mods. Get a feel for how the game plays out before changing things. I mentioned in a different thread that "Exploration Mode" can be easier for new players than "Standard", so you could start with that if you so choose. Otherwise, a "Standard" world with no mods is what I suggest
  13. Oh quiver is good I think I'm gonna use that from now on. I prefer swarm over drift however. "Drift" is a bit close to "rift" and may cause some verbal miscommunication. "Hey watch out for that drift over there." "The rift's on a hilltop, we'll be fine."
  14. Ahh, the good o' days Underwater breathing, asbestos skin, no "pit kilns", and trees dropped saplings. Kids these days have it so hard
  15. Drifters do swarm, that one works. And Bowtorns do make a great squad I'm not sure on the shiver surge tho. It's not a bad suggestion, but it doesn't fully fit a group of Shivers to me.
  16. Alcohol inhibits your logic processing abilities, so being able to do "stupider moves in a fight" whilst tanking damage would be great. "There's a temporal storm a'comin'. I'd recommend gettin' absolutely shitfaced on that mead there before it hits; it helps with their swipe attacks.", "Jhonny's too drunk to notice the Bowtorn spikes through his legs and shoulder as he's charging straight at that group.", "You got too drunk last night and fought 4 shivers at once, it's a wonder you survived!" Off topic, what's a group of Bowtorns called? Same with the other two mobs as well.
  17. Vintage Story's "Beanstock" I wonder what kind of creature you'd find if you climbed that
  18. There was a bukkit plugin for that other block game that I used to use a lot, whenever you landed whilst holding SHIFT your damage was reduced by 50%
  19. I think that would be a great idea I don't think one plate would be enough though. At least two, maybe 4. A killer to craft, but with how valuable it would be, it'd absolutely be worth it. I think it should be tier 4 and up (Iron+). Copper and bronze, at least to me, doesn't seem strong enough to handle breaking ice.
  20. By any chance, did you sleep, log out, and log back in with this issue? There is a bug where if you log out shortly after waking up, time will continue to speed up as if you are asleep. A common (but not guaranteed) fix is to try sleeping again. Edit: I posted this at the same time you posted your reply glad you found an answer
  21. You and I think the same about other casual regions
  22. I grew up in a place that would regularly get snow at over 2 meters for a good amount of the year (Which may be why Tennessee summers are so unbearable to me ), so in my eyes, Vintage Story winters are mild at best. We don't get blizzards that completely blind you (Like the ingame sandstorms do), we barely get 1/2 a block of snow buildup, whole ponds don't casually freeze over, and you can actually step outside in December and January with nothing on, and not instantly die. I think, at the very least, the arctic and near-arctic regions should have stricter winters.
  23. I agree with you on this. It was the same with that other block game as well; walking into that village and just. Modifying everything like I owned the place. I think Vintage Story traders should give you a "what the hell, man?" dialogue and kick you out of their bed when you enter it without asking. It's their bed after all, not yours.
  24. Seconding this Pretty much, if it shows up on your Prospecting Pick, then there's a chance to find it. Zane said it somewhere else on this forum, but Decent readings is more than enough for a solid hit
