  1. I've noticed that most fuels don't last very long, which sucks if you're only using a fire for lighting/heat and not actually trying to cook or smelt stuff with it. I have a fireplace in my living room, and I like to keep it burning because it looks nice and cozy, but I barely ever light it because there's no reason to if I'm not going to use it to cook, which I don't often do in there (I have a kitchen too). I propose adding a fuel source that burns for a longer time. It could burn at a lower temperature so that it can't be used for crucibles, but either way, just a fuel that lasts longer would be nice. All I've been able to find irl is dried hardwood as firewood burns for a long time. So, I guess being able to dry your firewood to increase its burn time would be nice. That or increasing the burn time of peat, its not really used for anything else anyway.
  2. Airships would be sick, and even though this game seems to be mostly medieval themed, there's definitely steampunky parts of it, and even evidence of advanced technology. Not to mention in the latest devlog it said something about a mini dimension system which: "should allow for multiblock vehicles and other wicked mechanical shenanigans". I doubt they're talking about cars here, but horse/livestock drawn equipment/carriages? Boats? Rotatable windmills (PLEASE)? I can do a whole lot of speculating. I definitely think they should add horses though. It wouldn't make sense to have airships and hot air balloons and fancy gliders but I can't ride a horse.
  3. As a new player who started as blackguard, yeah it needs some work. God it was awful. Having the extra food requirements, especially while being new, was rough because you can't hunt anything effectively and there really wasn't a lot of wild plants. Not to mention I didn't know anything about cooking (not that I had pottery at the time anyway). Really, I think there just needs to be more dungeon type encounters or fighting encounters. There is very little reason to make heavy armor in the first place, because the only time you're going to be fighting is temporal storms (or being ambushed by a wild animal, during which you probably don't want to be wearing heavy armor anyway because you would be exploring). If there were dungeons or places worth going to that had good loot it would make sense to have a fighting class, but currently I spend 99% of my time not fighting and therefore getting very little benefit from picking a class that is good at fighting, but I keep the downsides to that class all the time. Gimme some dragons to fight or something that are hoarding big resources, that way I can actually do what my class is supposed to do more frequently. I don't really think being slower while wearing armor is a bad thing because it's rare that you should be wearing armor. To me armor is something that you have when you KNOW you're going to get in a fight. I don't mind being slower for that if the damage resistance is worth it, which it usually is. But having the blackguard armor movement speed be buffed would be nice. You wouldn't be exploring in plate armor still, but chainmail? That's doable.
  4. I'm working on a blacksmithing area, and I wanted to have a place I can throw metal items off the anvil (or forge) to cool them faster, so I don't have to run to the nearby (frozen) lake. I want to know if I can just put water in a barrel and have the same effect. It would look nicer than having a source block in my opinion, and it might have the added benefit of not freezing in winter (like the rather harsh one I'm having now). I would just make the barrel myself and test it to find out, but I don't have the resources on hand right now and I really don't want to spend some on a barrel if it's not going to work so I'd like to know beforehand.
