yeah, this new mob spawning mechanic is something else. I've yet to contrive a (mob) trap to maybe farm them(?) "and give that player poultice, stat!"

to build on this, my personal observation from game play has to do with a certain area where I was landscaping. seems grass blocks going through an update (remove and replace the grass/dirt block, or covering then removing a block on top of the grass/dirt block) will cause either new grass to grow in the spot, or sprout a mushroom (sooner?)

in addition to the points above on this, there is a command /stats that will reflect the version while in game. That said, if playing on a multiplayer server, I've witnessed the server on an earlier version, while I connect with a current version (ie server running 1.20, player client running 1.20.3)

got curious a bit on this myself. took me a vs moment to realize that elk are part of the vs deer family. currently the deer can not reproduce thru breeding/feeding sadly. (hence gaining a tamed elk reaching gen 10 maybe) wiki: -

Am I just not understanding the Temporal Stability mechanic?

an additional observation about the central cog, is that if you mouse over it, it will also reveal a percentage, 100% being the ideal/top. if the percentage dips (because of temporal instability, it will only return to 100% when the player is in an area that has a positive stability. and welcome to the forum- 3 replies

question Buying Family Pack While Already Owning the Game

haven't bought the family pack. did purchase a giftable key (for the wife). The giftable key ties to a unique email at the point of activation. from the above quote in the Product Information, looks like you will gain 4 giftable, and should there be an issue, open a support ticket. (now that I look at it, seems a sweet deal) -

not sure exactly what is being seen. That said, yes the wind seems to fluctuate within a range, which kinda mimics real life (think gusts). (and welcome to the forum ) -

the game does have an accessibility section that i believe can reduce some of those effects(?) also, there is a great mod (Accessibility Tweaks) that gave additional curbing on such effects that hasn't yet been updated for 1.20 last i checked... -
Elk question: Can you ride an elk through a translocator?

ugh! ride the elk into the TL, and dismount. elk disappears thru the TL (you) step into the TL Meanwhile the elk TL's back from the destination TL... because yeah it was standing on the destination TL still! Point being, needs to be a cool down how how quickly a TL can be used/activated (giving time to get at the elk before it teleports back!) (another game within the game challenge?) or, a TL can only be activated with an expiring ticket of some sort (kinda like a terminus, cept maybe cheaper than burning a tgear) -

its supposed to work without issue. won't update preexisting chunks, so for instance fire clay could still be found on the surface in the old chunks, not so much in the newly gen chunks... the old rule of thumb, make a backup of the world first- 1 reply

my issue with this new recipe is the limit on how many candles per pot can be made (ie 6wax+6wax+6wax+6fibers=6candles) Might be nice to have a mold that allowed the pouring of melted wax (from a crucible?), and inserting the fiber wick idk... I do like that the cooking pot can be reused to make glue.

was logging in for a bit... with the added build height, noticed sea level was now at 138. since it was winter (end of feb), made a raft and headed south for the warmer weather. 20k south and its still snowing with temps below freezing! I'm wondering if thats because of the elevated sealevel? (a loss of 1 degree for every 10 blocks above the default sealevel of 110). Also noticed I could hold my breath longer underwater?

idk, I've noticed this mark and kind of wondered if it was a pointer to something more, or just a water mark from past water drippings like you, i've dug around and even went into creative to see. perhaps its connected to some lore? -
best bow(recurve) + arrow(steel) = 6.5 hp damage best thrown spear (black bronze)= 8 hp damage If I could shoot more than one arrow at a time, or an option to double shot, bow and arrow would be my choice. as it is, with leather backpacks, packing 15 spears (+knife, falx, food, poultices), sill leaves inventory room to pick up the loot (flax, rusty gears both stack. temporal gears, jonas bits don't stack) during a temporal storm. Doubleheaded drifters sit at 54 health, thats 7 spears (no misses and no double hits). (more than 1 doubleheaded drifter can and has spawned in at the same time) do arrows fire faster? can I shoot 8+ arrows faster than tossing 7 spears? Spear bag would free up more loot space. that said, usually the area I choose to take on the storm, has a few pillars with tool racks loaded with extra spears.. because sometimes it gets a bit crowed with drifters to double back and pick up the tossed spears, and easier to reach one of the pillars to reload spears... A spear bag could help, or increasing the damage done by arrows, i'm not sure what the development path is with regards to ranged weaponry(?)

it be nice to see a game version associated with blocks listed somewhere. I'm guessing its found in ruins in prior game versions. not seeing it in this current version of VS

main menu, as in the starting or splash screen that comes up when first starting the game? and the (background) picture kinda zooms in and out? don't look at it! just quickly make the menu selection and move on, hurry!! but yeah, I'm getting sea sick too oh, and welcome to the forums

clicking on the control line item, allows a new key press to be taken as the action key. the question had me wondering what about 'no assignment', it seems the only 3 options. a (new) key press, or click default, or esc if i want to unassign (sort of like disabling the action from the keyboard input), not possible that i can see...

do items despawn when you leave the game on your solo world

the question that wasn't asked directly: If death visits while out in the world far from spawn (unloaded chunks normally), will my items be there to get back, should a way be found to return to the death point? to this I say, know your terminus -
replacing/placing a quiver (or 2) in the backpack slot might be nice. For temporal storms, my weapon of choice, early, mid, and late game has always been an inventory of spears (black bronze). (suited in gambson)Tossed/thrown Spears seem to do the most damage per hit then anything else in the game while allow a certain distance just out of reach of the mobs. late game semi auto grinder? gawf i'm in the arena lets go

yeah, it is annoying this is the reason to have an overflow barrel or extra bucket, to hold the leftover small amount. (if its worth saving)
