  1. I used charcoal. Never had problems with my furnace setup.
  2. bowtorns are cowards, that is true. but while you are trying to chase a few, the ones behind you use you as a Seraph pin cushion, and get some target practice in.
  3. Found an astral gear in a tree hollow myself
  4. well the screen command is definitely active. You can resume the screen session if you want to see inside the server using 'screen -r <name>' where <name> is you need to press TAB to autocomplete the screen name. To disconnect CTRL+A, D
  5. Might want to mention the memory requirement that each mod has. Load too many mods, and the game tends to lock up if there isnt enough memory on the host system to accomidate the mods). @Thorfinn This is something I tend to forget myself, and it is not fun having to wait in excess of 10 minutes before I can join a server, only to have to wait an additional 5 minutes while the game try to catch up, and it keeps locking up hard to the point where you feel you are stuck in waist deep concrete. Only to find out while you waited, you got fragged to kingdom come minutes ago.
  6. I started a new world as a single player, and moved that world to the server that I used (I was specific about the seed, and world settings that I needed from the get go). All I had to do was rename the save file to default (seeing the default name for the server save is default.vcdbs). So yes, you can start a world on a single player world, and move it to the server as a server save.
  7. default name is default.vcdbs Located under the data/Saves folder on the server (as per the screenshot for my server). Make sure to stop the server completely. Once that is done, there will be one single file that you can delete. The next time you start the server, it will create a new world for you.
  8. No, I restarted a new world in a cold area. Overstocked on bushmeat and bones (for bone broth) tbh.
  9. As per the title, I need blackguards for my server. My only requirement is that they come hungry. PM me for access to the server, as I need to add your username to the whitelist.
  10. When you rent the server, if it hasnt been done for you, the moment you start your rented server, it will be created by the server.
  11. You could try /wgen regen [chunk radius]
  12. you can start with checking if you can run the screen command, and checking for any errors. you could also try updating the screen software package. might be out of date.
  13. @Zippy Wonderdust https://mods.vintagestory.at/modsupdater https://mods.vintagestory.at/vintagelauncher (only found it today, havent tried it yet). EMTK (link posted above, I used that myself up and till the 1.20 version)
  14. there is in fact. But it crashes on the 1.20 update. https://mods.vintagestory.at/emtk @Thorfin
  15. With bears, its open hunting season for me, and given my current seed, I have 2-3 polar bear for every 1 brown bear I see. And since its a wooden area, I have a bit of a wolf problem now, Since I have a few pit traps close by, I just let them chase me, and jump over a pit trap. Deep enough to stop a bear from climbing out should it get trapped there on occation
  16. you do have a point there I guess, @Zippy Wonderdust.
  17. Primitive survival mod will help with the meat. smoke it with the smoker. https://mods.vintagestory.at/primitivesurvival
  18. for the life in me I cant find peat in my current map for 1.20.3, and I went as far away as 2.5M blocks in search of it. Ran into red clay while hunting, and blue clay near water while looking for wild crops, and later on peat. And their is nothing wrong with a good old dirt mansion in the beginning, @ScytheKnight. Still living in one myself for now, preparing for my first winter in the save. Mostly relying on pit traps for now, and getting ready to start my animal farm with a pair of Aurochs that got caught in a pit trap near my dirt mansion.
  19. Bowthorn can be quite an irratant. Especially when they manage to hit me without me seeing them at first. And I am used to ground level attacks from Drifters. Once I see them though, I dispatch them, or at the very least chase them away a good distance before running away from them. As for the Shivers, they are cute/annoying. Dont pay them much attention at first, as I do enjoy their antics a bit, before killing them. Drifters imo are still a greater threat than Bowthorn or Shivers.
  20. found my deposit of red clay half way up a mountain, topped with glacier ice.
  21. Hopefully one day, there will be oil in the game as well
  22. prefer a medium trumpet myself
  23. Used both a clean, and a residue covered cooking pot. And I got sulphiric acid in both cases. So I dont know what happened in your case, other than maybe a mod conflict that overrode the vanilla recipe.
  24. Really? Only saw one bear so far, and half the time the wolves doesnt seem as aggro anymore. In fact they run away half the time (leaving the poor pups behind). I've seen more aggresive behaviour from pigs when I am near a piglett in fact.
  25. its more the meals allready in crocks, and that was sealed that I lose to spoilage.
