I don't really think that is a relevant argument to make in an online forum where all tone is lost behind the text. I was mostly joking with my comment and if you had taken two seconds to look at my profile you would see that the majority of reactions that people give me are to laugh at the humor in my posts. I understand it may have triggered you to make the response in the same way you did, but that was your choice to respond in the way you did, just like it was my choice to mimic your wording in my response, which you found to be me acting offended. I can only draw the conclusion that my lame attempt at a joke offended you... not sorry for making the joke, but do apologize if it offended you. You only have 7 posts, so starting out on the forums guns-a-blazing isn't a good look especially with other bad actors running around shooting their mouths off with utter disregard for their fellow humans behind keyboards. Something something throw your words back at you blah blah blah take a second to step back and see the bigger picture. For what it's worth, apology accepted. TL;DR: I would have been very easy to match your wording and be a stick in the mud, and attack every word in your post. However, we are but humans behind keyboards. The harder road to take is to acknowledge our own faults and make amends where we can while trying to find the light in these dark times. "If you only do what is easy, your life will be hard."

Given the amount of mining and crafting that has to be done in this voxel game, I can't help but wonder if it also pulled some inspiration from that other block game whose name is escaping me at the moment...But it has a lot of mods that didn't work very well over there, but work excellently in Vintage Story due to the game's engine being setup to support it. Things like seasons, crop rotations, chiseling, and a rich modding atmosphere. In all seriousness, I get some Rust vibes but with a much less toxic community (outside of a few characters who have shown up recently).

EVE Online has a high difficulty cap and a learning curve so steep it's almost backwards... yet the game is thriving and is the major source of income for CCP games. The problem isn't games being hard. The problem is games being needlessly difficult to the point of being unfun.

I think you meant to say, "Just because it's obvious to you doesn't mean it's obvious to everyone." Also 4 replies in a row? From the same person. You must have really gotten under his skin. I remember the day when he said, I'm starting to think he didn't really mean it. I even addressed narcissism with him privately and his response was "I this" and "I that" and "me"... his entire response was about himself. It was amusing. I long for the day that he enters the final arc of his character development and "can relearn how to be freakin' polite to people online", to quote the guy himself. I might even be alive to see it. As mentioned this is basically how it works, except for low light conditions. Remember this is how it worked in the other block game. Vintage Story used to be a mod for that game so I would suspect that's a feature of the other block game that Tyron liked and decided to keep. This would negate the "rift activity" statistic in your character "C" menu. How would this proposed change replace that? rifts that generate during a temporal storm are always a source of threat and on 1.20.7, they um... they spawn Nightmares... CONSTANTLY! I have screenshots of the carnage, it's not pretty. Probably close to 50 nightmare bowtorns just milling about in the broad daylight... @_@ But if rifts could only spawn below a certain light level, but they can spawn monsters regardless of light level, you're essentially guaranteeing 3 things: Rifts will only spawn at night regardless of rift activity level (so no more calm nights when you can just enjoy the quiet darkness) Players will build minimally sized work areas to prevent them from spawning inside their huts. Players will just skip the night with sleep so they never have to deal with mobs ever again. Does that sound accurate to what you are suggesting? If not, please feel free to enlighten me because I am confused.

Again... TTRPG implies two things: TT = Table Top RPG = Role Playing Game with a game master and people playing characters for the story. It would essentially be a homebrew DnD set in the same realm as Vintage Story with a few added mechanics to compensate for the original game, yes?

You had my interest in the title, but what you've described isn't a TTRPG. I thought you meant something like DnD.

headphones are almost always better than those two options because the audio tends to be tinny which will make tracks with more high-frequency audio sound louder than other.

It's one of those things I always think about and never actually get around to doing anything about.

Hello! Allow me to introduce you to my hunting lodge that I share with my good friend and hungry blackguard. We are playing on a modded server with increased hunger and slower healing, giving more value to food and bandages than is in the base game. Let's take a look at the entrance. I have built it off the ground like a traditional cabin so that air can circulate underneath and keep it cool in the summer. This of course means colder winters, but with a fireplace in every major room, that's not a problem. Initially we settled in a dugout in a hill, digging until we met stone and working through the nights to gather as many resources as we could. Eventually my friend started working on a humble forge to not only expand our storage areas but also keep the forge and fires out of the rain. Once we had copper, I ran a trotline and added fish to our diet which made stockpiling redmeat-based meals easier. We also setup a small farm. Initially we didn't have very good soil and had to bring in medium-fertility soil from other places... the hazards of building so close to a forest I guess. Large deer wandered up and we managed to trap a male and a female and have slowly begun breeding them. A greenhouse helps us get some crops started early that would need warmer climates to thrive. Looks like I need to do some weeding... grass is growing in the Terra Preta.... >_> Another angle of the farms looking towards the dugout and forge. Inside the forge Closer look at the inside. different angle from other door. Entire forge building with windmill on top and cementation furnace to the side. Inside the 2nd floor showing a work area with a helve hammer and a 2nd forge. Got a big gear with clutches and transmissions so we can choose what runs off the windmill. I also installed a brake which confused my friend the first time. Maybe some day brakes will become useful in VS but right now they're pretty useless. Pulverizer and chute takes items down to the chest on the first floor. Back to the main house, we have a little stable for our elks. They look bored. The rest of these pictures won't have much explanation as I'm getting tired of typing. Just enjoy the unguided virtual tour of my house!
