Tyron added that after someone admitted to a dastardly deed of actually destroying the poor li'l thing before the seraph had actually seen any sign of Tobias.

Based on Tyron warning of jarring transitions when he overhauled terrain generation in 1.18, I can confirm that for new chunks the current world gen for the version being played will be used to create new terrain. In some cases it could create some very ludicrous transitions from old world gen algorithms to new world gen algorithms. For updating from 1.20 to 1.21 that shouldn't be an issue since Tyron has not issued similar dire warnings as with the 1.18 update.

Kinda reflex when you've gone caving for years. It's odd that one of those doesn't attempt to summon my death by 1,000 terrible things headed my way.

Yep. Polished granite is darker than normal granite and easily confused with suevite. Suevite has such a wonderful shade and hue that blends so wonderfully with granite though. mmmmmm....

I did the same. My last test world I made it through a winter and the next summer to open up the late game mechanics (steel making first introducted in 1.15) which was temporary "test world" number 6 or 8.

The walls are rammed earth. I meant the corners.

My condolences. I lost my father in February. Join me in causing innumerable deaths of drifters, wolves and bears satiating our rage and grief.

Welcome to the insan... errr Vintage Story! Checks out. You're addicted already. Welcome to the insanity. Btw, I think it took me a half-dozen worlds before I started my first "forever" world run.

Is that suevite for most of the walls?

Tyron will warn us what could go amiss if we don't start a new world. The 1.18 came with a very stern warning of jarring terrain features if contuing a 1.17 world. A similar warning came with 1.19 and using commands to import the RA to a pre 1.19 world. Since I haven't seen such warnings this time 'round (yet), I doubt there'll will be an issue with continuing a pre 1.21 world.

Reminds one of those hyperactive micro zombies in TOBG, no? Maybe I should have said, less likely to be deadly. Considering that even the dirt wants to kill you so...

Then I'm definitely getting my VS card revoked. Recently sank too much bedtime time into The Crust. And only The Crust. Hopefully the itch to go back to VS will save me.

That trailer looks like Hytale has competition. If Simon manages to re-own the IP that is.

And there goes all the complaints about wolves spawn camping at 10:00 am, May 1, year 0.

Welp. The secrets of cloning are lost.

I'd be interested in what you find in seed -13. I had copious amounts of red clay near spawn and an absolutely obscene amount of high fertifility soil nor far to the southeast from spawn.

I'd say the hippos are like bighorn sheep and get rather spicy about their personal space except the hippos tell dem sheeps, "hold my beer. Watch this!"

This visual is exactly the rock strata changes for the single surface block seen in the color map. Rock strata kind of have a terrain feature of their own near a boundary (as seen in the screenshots) where the top rock strata thins out for the underlying rock strata. Go to those straight line borders and dig down a couple blocks into the rock strata and you'll like find the other rock strata not far below but gets deeper as you travel farther away from the border. It's been this way ever since I started playing in 1.14.

Cool. Haven't heard of Maas, but loved the Do'Urden stories by Salvatore. The Crimson Shadow books by him was good too.

Indeed. Mind you my comment is based on chapter 2 lore disclosures (while not disclosing anything specifically) and is highly speculative. Which means what the devs develop will likely be wildly different than what I dreamt up in the moments of reading your comment. And that is theoretically, imaginarily, hypothetically all.

I too like the sense of a world rebuilding itself after an apocalyptic event (and here comes the but... spoilered because of story lore theory.

What books inspired this... this... this oasis of creative beauty?
