  1. try one, run it, if it doesn't work try the other. When you figure out which one causes it you can keep the other one installed
  2. well this is false, in my current playthrough I managed to made 50 liters each of blackcurrent, redcurrent, whitecurrant and cranberry wine and it's the 2nd day of october year 1 I could've made much more aswell if I just focussed on blackcurrents because those are the most prolific at my base but I wanted variation for rp reasons yeah but fishing doesn't require any setup, all you need is a knife, some rope and a few sticks. I think that's what @LadyWYT meant with their comment, you can start fishing and get mountains of protein day 1 any playthrough so similarly it's viable as an emergency food source just by keeping a fishing rod ready. And I believe worms also don't spoil? But I might be wrong, I never keep them around long enough to try it out but if they don't then you can even stock up on the bait if you so please. I understand both your points of view, because bees spawning is a little random, and it can happen that you just don't en up running into any. But they are also something you only have to ever find 1 time in an entire playthrough and then you're set. So yeah teeeechnically you can't be certain you'll find bees early or even at all but it's just something you gotta casually keep an eye out for at all time until you find them, 9/10 times you'll find them rather quick. I do like this suggestion but I also feel like a system like this would be ripe for cheesing if something like this gets implemented I'd suspect a lot of balancing issues would present themselves rather quickly lasty I wanna add I am kinda confused about why people feel like they need unspoilable foods for travel specifically? I never timed it exactly but I know you can travel thousands of blocks in a single day if you are dedicated to traveling and don't get distracted much so how far are ya'll traveling? You guys got outposts 100k blocks away or something? Because if something is 20k blocks away yeah that would be quite a walk but regular food with regular spoilage rates would still get you there before it spoils so???
  3. am I the only one here that doesn't prefer the free mouse while knapping or clay forming? T.T
  4. That deer was your spiritual guide it seems!
  5. As I was exploring in my current singleplayer game I eventually encountered a massive limestone biome and upon prospecting found halite readings and thought to myself: Imagine finding a salt dome in the same place I found limestone? Has anyone even been that lucky? Then I remembered the day I introduced my friend to this game and talked to her about how the game REEAAALY opens up after getting into the copper age but how it can sometimes take a while to find enough copper nuggets and if you get unlucky it can be a little annoying (hoping to preemptively warn her in case this happens so she wouldn't get frustrated with the game) Only for her to wander into a ruin and find a copper pickaxe in a cracked vessel on day 2 XD Share your greatest moments of luck with me!?

We should also add craftable rockets you can propel yourself with! And little green guys that explode when you get too close to get the gunpowder for it!
  7. I just tried it for myself and mine seems to work fine, are you running any mods?
  8. I had that too the very first playthrough when I kept pigs, after the first batch I decided to kill mama and keep just 1 of the female piglets for breeding again and her batch of piglets was all male, then a brown bear somehow made it into the pen and killed all but 2 piglets so I had to catch a new female and start over XD
  9. Again wrong...
  10. sure but there's other materials you could use that aren't grass; sand or gravel perhaps if you look at real life pens rarely do they have active live grass on the floor save for large meadows for cows, often it's dirt, woodshavings or something else covering the floors
  11. yeah best steer clear off the sheep unless you got a solid plan going up to them, even in heavy armor they could easily knock you off a ledge or into a pit if you're not paying attention. But in the case of sheep you don't have to ''fear'' them like you'd do wolves and bears, they won't come after you unless you bump into them real close, you can walk past them casually and if you don't bother them generally they won't bother you either
  12. Again, this is just simply not true Wine is the best way to preserve fruit Distilled drinks literally solve the very problem you bring up in this post but you pretend it doesn't Aqua vitae is an ingredient in THE BEST healing item you can make in game Why do you keep pretending the alcohol system is pointless? You've said it several times now but repeating it isn't gonna make it true. I don't go a single playthrough without making alcohol, I make wine was soon as I can put down barrels specifically BECAUSE it lasts long!...
  13. wait, YOU CAN?! I had no idea!
  14. you're saying all that but ignoring the foods that already fill exactly this purpose: walnuts, fat and honey all do not spoil at all in their fully edible state, if you're REAALY that concerned with having forever lasting foods for emergencies then stock up on those
  15. aaaah good point!
  16. Unless I'm mistaken putting water as 1 of the ingredients just leaves you with less nutrition for serving right? So I never bothered making soup. Have you ever made soup? And if you have, why?
  17. As someone who has dabbled in historical longbow archery I don't find the arrow spread to be all that unrealistic, maybe a liiiitle but too wide for 20 meter distance but having a spread of over a meter at 40 meters distance is not all that strange for an average archer. Sure a specialised archer could train to become far more accurate than that at even longer distances but considering your character is likely not spending 2 hrs a day practicing archery I think the spread is quite sensible as it is
  18. I usually make more humble houses so I don't often have very large rooms with very tall ceilings, but one of my favs to do if I have a sloped roof low enough to reach is to line baskets on the ceiling for extra storage without wasting floorspace
  19. Hard dissagree, alcohol is the single best way to preserve fruit in bulk for the long term, I don't go a single playthrough without mass producing wine
  20. this is also just not true, people have been boiling sea water to harvest the salt for hundreds of years Also sea salt still to this day mostly gets harvested simply by letting pools fill up and letting the water evaporate, they are called ''bay salt ponds'' it's not toxic, you likely eat it at every restaurant
  21. oh wow I can't believe I never encountered that before!
  22. I didn't say that, I just said it was not microbe free, thus it will eventually spoil. We have endless documentation of foods made specifically to last only for the storage barrel to be opened and for the people to find nothing but cockroaches inside, the food having long been eaten. I tried looking for this but couldn't find anything about it save for some youtuber, could you link me to anything referencing this so I can learn about it?
  23. ''when properly stored'' is the key here I think, assuming you can get a perfect bacteria and microbe free enviroment 100% devoid of any moisture in a medieval type setting like vintage story makes it unrealistic even if scientifically possible
