Am I alone in thinking that hiding behind lies and feelings is what causes the destruction of relationships? Id dare say that being transparent about said things actually benefits all relationships.

Holy hi jacked hell. Anyways. I know it can seem really frustrating but I'll be honest. Collect ALL the flint bits you come across throughout your play throughs. ALWAYS. It really does make a monumental difference to have the resource at your finger tip. Ive beaten all chapters of the game and now I just roam about and gather resources. For what's it worth I have crates and crates of fireclay and only about 25% of the collection id dare say is organically collected under bitmouscoal. (I get some spelling stuff wrong, sorry, im lazy. just being honest). The important thing to point out is how easily a stack of flint can be turned into the needed commodities for fire clay and considerable amount of it to boot. I mean it. This game is simply easy once usual mechanics are adhered to and the other challenges can be addressed and bested. I find it to be incredibly rewarding. Do collect the flint. Don't stress about the quern. Copper bits are easy enough to come by. So I use the pro pick on 100x100 grid on the map. Im precise about it as I make a huge grid overall and it makes it much easier to read later game. While im mining, if I come across any flint in stone, I mine it all. I ALWAYS have a bit of flint in my inventory to pick up every bit I come across in my exploits. I have a room of crates in the main room of my tower for resources like this. Borax. Sulfur. Resin. Blue Clay. Alum. Hallite (a post of its own). etc...... Anyways don't be defeated by trying to locate fire clay. It does exist in the places other accounts above have posted about. But I strongly suggest just to look for other the resources and in the process you'll discover fire clay as a product of your digs. This has largely been my experience in my now three play thrus of Vintage Story. All three of several hundred hours and this current world im in is close to a thousand very easily. I should join some streamers or something of the like it would be enjoyable. This game has turned into a resources collection to world build once completing all story line chapters and I couldn't be happier. This game is awesome. Good job everyone involved in this testament to blocks.

In my experience to this point, all issues confronted have been operator error, as is usual in life. But that's just me and my stupid realism. XD This game continues on with gusto and remarkable fun. I hope they bested their problems and carried on playing otherwise it's only their loss.

Such excellent advice indeed. XD

Well then, why yes I certainly do. Matter of factly its vaguely similar to your story, however much more macabre. You see, I am well into the steel age on the server I play on (Vintage Armisteros) and also have optics (NIghtVisionGoggles). I mine A LOT. So there I was, mining. Silly me. I forgot an extra temporal gear to charge the goggles and when they went black I found myself in a hell of a conundrum. So I mine quartz veins a lot as ive unlocked gold and silver and rather enjoy stacking it high in the vault under my tower. I mine the quartz in a simple pattern that allows me to expose every block of the vein without mining every block. This permits cherry picking ores from the drift and leaving unwanted minerals as they lay. Welly welly WELL!!!! BORAX!!!!! This involves a not so straightforward approach to pinpoint the valuable ore and this is when my optics batteries depleted and this is when my fight or flight instincts kick in and viola! So I retrace my steps and hear a shiver. Well crap. Now I get to fight the baddies and I can't see. But they never come to me. I can hear them all around me. But I can't move far. Only three blocks east and west. I remained calm the entire time. Figured id mine my way out into the light as I happened to be mining in a shaft that dropped straight to mantle from surface. A great place to gain some gears and the like. Why I was diving into the cave to begin with when I happened upon the quartz vein. So then my pick breaks. Night Vision down. Can't see. Can't move. Its alright. I'll kill a baddie and get a gear and fire up my optics and all will be well. I died in that hole of starvation. I sat there for two hours waiting for someone to log onto the server before finally dying. I could hear baddies all around me. But never did they touch a hair on my dumb head. I sat there and starved as I waited for a thread of a hope of something or anything. So I come back to the point of my death. (Thankful for an extra boat and the ability to travel quickly tens of thousands of blocks.) And come to my grave and I see why ive died. I was certain I was mining forward. But no. Straight down. Into my own grave. Silly me. This is where ive learned the command self MDK

Im attempting this as we speak. I don't see it happening. Nothing is reading other than Elk (Female) Weight Good and Elk (Male) Weight Good. Full troughs of grass and four block high fencing (I have trust issues with bears) as well as four torches in holders on all interior corners of the enclosure.

Six NVG now. You'd think id have the recipes memorized. NOPE! So immersive. XD Merry Christmas Armisteros

Well put. And I suppose there might be some dwarven blood running through the veins of us remnants. XD

To clarify, im not looking to make something mundane, only to explore the unexplored. isn't that the pinnacle of survival? I can't teach flying acrobats any more lessons in missile volley fortitude but Im looking to find some answers for the loose ends cause that's what us blackguard do is dig and then dig some more. XD

yeah I had a good laugh when I wheeled up to the top of this thread and recognized its finely aged and largely prevalent still. what would cause such things? memory leaks?

So Im leaning towards appreciating this aspect of the game and I'll tell you why. Rifts pick up and intensify a day before the storm. One warning is given a day cycle before the storm and another warning is given moments before it occurs. Yet before any of the PSAs received in info log appear the rifts are the spoiler. I personally believe that there should be levels within the rust world that can only be attained while temporal storms are full swing. Certainly there's lore that's yet to be discovered. Certainly the other world has its own answers and its up to us seraphs to discover the means to continue the discovery of these rift torn worlds and the eaters eggs they've dyed and hidden.

The day Vintage Story is bought and owned by Microsoft, it's game over anyways.

yes I have! I finally lucked out and Im still ironing out the details but I found a ruin in a cave while tunneling for a port near base. so absolutely no organic light and not one single door. just an entrance into it from the tunnel to port. notably it only cures as cheese when its cooler. I'm using the freedom mod currently I think the magical number is 50f. so this cheese cellar is valid in the winter but in the summer is only good for storage.

It's really neat to have stumbled across this post. Our ancestors used to beeline in order to locate feral bee colonies. This involves feeding bees simple syrup and marking said bees and then timing their flights. Foragers have a radius of 2 and half miles or so from the center of their colony and will fly in concentric circles within that range of their colony. So timing a bee will help designate the direction they are coming from. Anyways, I could go into great length and detail about beelining but id say that it would be a great tool to use to locate the bees as sometimes they can be incredibly hard to locate. Ive had spawns where I had to find translocators to move me thousands of blocks before I could locate a nest of bees. But all in all remaining vigilante and keeping your chin up will always result in that buzz and sweet sweet nectar. Sidenote: Do have a look at the beelining videos on YouTube. there's some really really cool information about doing such things. absolutely marvelous stuff.

Nope! The curator of our server set spawn on the equator. I made it -24k blocks north and established my home. Long story. But it's cold and I love it.
