Thanks! This build has been a fun exercise so far The lanterns are there partly to see how far the range of the light for the night cycle is so I can adjust the actual lanterns that will be installed, but also for visibility during the night cycle. I will be making use of the creative light in the deep pools and falls to brighten that up artistically when I get to the detail work.

A rough blocking out of the formal gardens behind the pavilions.

Very close! I'm doing Louix XIV's favourite property that was lost: Chateau de Marly du Roi
  7. I run around 97 mods, but I'm always open to experimenting with more, or chuck those that don't fit me anymore or just haven't updated (ceramos T_T pls come back). I will not, however, play without expanded foods/a culinary artillery, wildcraft herbs, wildcraft fruits, HUD clock, carry on, knapster, ancient tools, QP Tech, and better ruins.

A sneak peak of a new mega build I'm testing:
  9. I would like to suggest implementing something like Louis XIV's 17th century Marly machine for hydrolics. Buckets are okay, but not great for moving a lot of water
  10. Hi @Kalzamar! Good to see you on the forums instead of youtube Night happening within ten minutes of spawning is a bug. That is not normal at all, like LadyWYT indicated. That bug usually only happens after you've closed the game too soon after sleeping, not on the first day. Bowtorns and shivers are still a problem. You've seen that on Kurazarrh's vids, and yes there are ways of dealing with them. NO you don't always hear that wind up, especially if the bowtorn is 20 blocks out. Unfortunately the only way to deal with that in early game is stay inside at night. My partner won't play because of them and the spawn issues that have plagued 1.20, nor will they pick the game up again until it's fixed. Even I've put it down for a bit because the bowtorns and shivers are so frustrating. There are mods to limit them. No Surface Shivers mostly works, and Bashful Bowtorns does help. Happy gaming friend!
  11. This is still off topic. A question about a specific mod is not something the game devs are going to answer, that is what the Mod forum is for.

    French Castle

    Magnifique!
  13. I have one, from yesterday: I walked out of my cellar to check on the lambs I'd caught out in the barn, when out of nowhere, a grizzly lumbers its way into my backyard. I froze, reaching for my spear, in case it decided to get spicy. Instead, it gave my backyard a cursory inspection, and then lumbered right back to where it came from, leaving me shaking in my boots. No beasts were injured in the making of this post.
  14. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the panopticon chickens that can see through walls either, which is why I love the chicken sit mod. Only have to suffer for one generation. And while it's pretty mean to roosters, Roman legions often brought along capons (basically neutered roosters that get super fat) when they marched.
  15. Each release and pre-releases tend to get their own threads.
  16. I only alter them slightly lower, but compared to the 9 and 12 day games I've run, I saw no appreciable difference. I was still drowning in food XD
  17. I prefer playing with 30 day months, always have. Make seasons more realistic. That said, I do not have an issue with food spoiling faster, unless there's a bug. If the sealed crock on the shelf says it's good for a year, it's good for a year.
  18. Those are an armor kind of boot that allows for faster walking, so they appear over the clothing.
  19. The boots are the thigh highs, and vanilla, but you guessed correctly! I didn't manage to find the noble or king gloves in that run lol. Most times I end up making the fortune teller pieces.
  20. This is generally the look I try to achieve in my playthroughs:
  21. An eldritch horror with Just Some Guy name is infinitely funnier though.
  22. I prefer to build in warm-temperate places that are temporally stable, visually interesting, and have a reasonably large body of water nearby. It can vary how long it takes me to find one of those locations, per world, however.
  23. It burns hot and quickly in my experience too. I like to get my fires started with them, and then add in harder woods like cherry to burn together once the stove temp is where I like it.
  24. Hay would be great to use on onion crops and garlic if we had it.
  25. It works on my machine...
