Is there any way to see what the average wind speed is in a region? I'm assuming its not 100% random because I have definitely been in a few areas that have faster wind speed on average compared to others. I could be totally wrong though.

Any command to use or mod that tells you similar to HUD clock?

To my knowledge, wind speed is mostly random. However, I do believe it is affected by elevation and time of year. At higher elevations, wind tends to be stronger, hence why many players mount their windmills fairly high. As for time of year...in my experience, there seems to be more frequent strong winds during the winter than during other times of year, which makes winter an excellent time to do your smithing and other heavy material refinement processes.

To my knowledge the HUD clock is the only mod out there that gives you specific data on the current wind speed.

I believe Status HUD Continued shows wind speed.

Im using this mod already and its great, but it only shows the CURRENT wind speed. I'm more interested in seeing if specific biomes/regions are considered a 'windy area' or a 'not very windy area' on average if that makes sense.

In my mind I guess I was under the assumption that wind speed is broken up into almost like invisible biomes where some areas are almost always more permanently windy than other regions. Although this assumption is based on pretty much nothing and average wind speed might just be determined more based on elevation than anything else.

I guess now I'm more interested in a more detailed explanation of how wind speed is calculated and how random it actually is. If it was actually broken up into invisible biomes like I said there would probably already be a mod like I'm describing.

Wind is independent of regions or biomes.   The only thing that impacts wind is time and altitude.

The location and height of the structure can also affect the amount of power generated. On a technical level, wind speed varies from region to region and is linearly interpolated between the 4 nearest weather regions, for a given block location. (ref: wiki
