I don't want to play for 4 years. I'm bored, and there's nothing interesting enough to justify another playthrough on the horizon. That's part of my point. I *want* to want to play this game. I want there to be interesting waterways and more story locations. And that's going to take years. To your point, it's taken roughly a year to develop and polish just the first two story chapters. At this pace, the remaining 6 chapters are 3 years away. Is that a reasonable pace? Disagree with me all you want, but the reality is, we are several years into this game's development, and the game is still *years* away from having it's fundamental features being complete. Glad that pace works for you, I guess? Glad you're having fun. I'm not even being sarcastic. But I and a fair number of others aren't really interested in playing the same thing over an over, with something new and interesting popping up MAYBE twice a year. I concur with the others. You seem to want to be banned. Your opinion is coming across as arrogant, entitled and quite immature. "I want this. I demand that!" much like my children when their ages were single digits. Two people have been banned in the past few months for this kind of attitude. You don't want to play the game now? Fine, stop playing. Check back in a year or two from now; there'll be 2 to 4 updates in that time. Nobody here is twisting your arm forcing you to keep playing. This kind of whiny immature posting is disgusting. I am sure that you don't look in the mirror much but I'll hold it up for you anyway. You are coming across as just another new fart player expressing their "opinion" that Anego should be as fast as a AAA developer and produce a fully finished and polished game in months. When confronted with their arrogance instead of introspecting the immaturity ramps up another level. I will state this again, TWO people have been banned in the past THREE MONTHS for this kind of attitude polluting these threads. Be bold! Look in the mirror and see if there's a streak of selfishness in what you see. If you need help look at the reactions I've gotten for the post you quoted. There's others here that appreciate my comments trying to softly point out what is going on around here and help you understand. This post is much more direct because you completely missed the point of my previous post. It is obvious to the the community at large that this selfishness of yours is large and in charge coming through loud and clear to the rest of us. Please stop with the "my viewpoint is the only viewpoint" schtick. If you haven't stopped reading by now, I applaud your courage. I was blunt and that can be hard to listen to. I think I can say this on behalf of the veterans here (who will roast me if they don't, and that's ok) that we do want you to post and contribute in the community; we also want you to be mature about it. It is perfectly ok to state and own your opinion, just do not expect others to agree with it. Be mature enough to let others have their opinions too but remain friendly even if you don't agree with or, heck, even like their opinion. Edited October 23, 2025 by Maelstrom 1 1 7
Teh Pizza Lady Posted October 23, 2025 Report Posted October 23, 2025 It's not even the attitude, it's the fact that it's mean-spirited (calling people names), antagonistic, and public-facing. On Tyron's own post where he's trying to share with us the progress his team has made. And what has happened in the last month? Let's make a tally: Tweaks to models, block functionality, game commands, game mechanics TONS of fixes for things we've reported and things we haven't reported A fix for an issue that has plagued the game for a long time and that I SPECIFICALLY researched on my own time. Tyron's team tweaked my fix and worked it into the game. Let's not forget that. Someone please pat me on the back! Recipe fixes API tweaks Performance enhancements More fixes More tweaks More performance enhancements And what was the gripe? Nothing about any of that. It wasn't civil, it was inflammatory and borderline hate speech, violating 3 of the forum rules stated here. And what was the promise? They are working on rivers. It's surprisingly complex to do them well and realistically in their style of world map. And knowing Anego, their rivers aren't going to be like rivers from TOBG. They're likely going to be teeming with fish and other complex aquatic life forms. They're going to have water flow between bodies of water. And if we're lucky, we'll get waterwheels to power our contraptions at the same time. So, please, for the sake of the forum's health, be kind, civil, and above all, have fun. If you're not having fun here, you're doing it wrong. 3 2
Teh Pizza Lady Posted October 23, 2025 Report Posted October 23, 2025 And for what it's worth, Tyron and his team are making the game that he wants to play. He was very kind to share it with us before it was completed. Of course we had to pay him for it, but let's not forget what the game is: unfinished. A work in progress. Incomplete. Until he marks it as completed and finished, we could all use a little more patience. These things take time, even for larger AAA dev teams. 3 2

On Tyron's own post where he's trying to share with us the progress his team has made. Pretty much. Constructive criticism is fine, but good constructive criticism is also fairly detailed about what the problem is, and how the problem could potentially be fixed, while still being at least somewhat polite. And unless there's an actual discussion happening about the subject, it's generally not necessary to make multiple posts about the same problem in the same thread. 25 minutes ago, Teh Pizza Lady said: Tyron's team tweaked my fix and worked it into the game. Kudos, but the funniest part of this to me is that he tried to pat you on the back, and the shoutout failed since you had changed your forum name. 26 minutes ago, Teh Pizza Lady said: So, please, for the sake of the forum's health, be kind, civil, and above all, have fun. Michaloid Posted October 23, 2025 Report Posted October 23, 2025 God please, i don't want every devlog to be locked because of a couple bad apples in the comments. What's with the sudden entitlement all of the sudden? "I DEMAND RIVERS AT MY FEET WITHIN AN HOUR!!111!!!1!" "THE DEVELOPERS ARE TRYING SOMETHING NEW, AND I HATE IT!" while explaining nothing of what the game or the devs are doing wrong just to bait heated conversations. I'm tired boss. 3 1 1
Maelstrom Posted October 23, 2025 Report Posted October 23, 2025 (edited) Ditto. Frankly, they're immature behavior has caused me to reduce my posting here. Although, they have created an opportunity for me to continue developing my ability to calm down and compassionately (if bluntly) confront them instead of reigning down my GenX snarky sarcasm attacks of anger, so I guess they're good for something. Hopefully the recent bannings are evidence of the mods taking a more aggressive stance by removing the problem children rather than closing the playground. I change that I wholeheartedly endorse and appreciate! Edited October 23, 2025 by Maelstrom 1

Don't throw sand! Make mudpies and share with friends! pizza counts as a mudpie if you put chocolate sauce and marshmallows on it instead of tomato sauce and pepperonies 3 2

Your opinion was that while certain forums members got sent to vacation land forever, they still had good points. Points that they made in the worst. Possible. Way. I think others are worried that you not only share those opinions but also the sentiments behind them. 1 2
Tyron Posted October 23, 2025 Author Report Posted October 23, 2025 Both sides here tend to get into overheat mode. I will lock this post, I don't think anything positive can be gained from a 2-sided flame-war. 11 1 1 3 2 2
Tyron Posted October 25, 2025 Author Report Posted October 25, 2025 One thing though for which I will abuse my admin rights and post on a locked topic: We can't please everyone, someone will always be mad: a) I under promise on rivers: People are mad because a mod already did it b) I over promise on rivers: People are mad if we can't deliver on it or the update takes too long c) We copy the rivers mod unchanged: People are mad that we don't put effort into it, when it has bugs, suffers from mod-ability and the code becomes unmaintainable d) I don't promise anything: People are mad we don't get enough content done / don't implement whats on the roadmap All of us only ever can see a partial picture of the full situation and react accordingly. And that's okay. What I do ask for is that you remain friendly and cordial with one another. We're all on the same boat. Anyone who posts here cares for the game. I think we all need to remind ourselves from time to time that opposing opinions, no matter how wrong they sound, are not a problem, but an opportunity to learn on how to act more virtuously. 28 1 1 10
