Strange sign in Nadiya well?

Upgraded from 1.20 to 1.21.5 recently. Visited Nadiya and noticed many blocks were missing or invisible. One structure was the well, I crawled inside out of curiosity and found a sign with the letters:

NGGYU

NGLYD

I disabled all mods and created a new world and it's still there. Does anyone know what this is or what it means?

The missing blocks is a bug, but the sign is an intended easter egg.
Looks like others have already given you the answer for that one, though.
