UnrealCanadian Posted Monday at 10:20 PM Report Posted Monday at 10:20 PM Well it happened... I am at 80 hours on my save and finally put the time in to upgrading my base. I ended up traveling around 35k blocks south to gather acacia wood for my floor... and on the way I have found a plethora of places I wish to move my base to... after building a majority of my castle. (Images included) My question to the community is... should I deconstruct my castle block by block, make multiple trips trips on foot (or hoof as I have the elk.) Or should I just use worldedit to copy and paste this build to the new location. Personally I am leaning more towards the second option... the hours I have spent on this build mixed with the 1.5 hours it takes me to get to the location in question.... I just feel like that would burn me out. But it is also 'Cheating" if you can call it that. Any opinion is greatly appreciated!~ (I apologize for the image quality, currently May 13th and have been stuck in a perma rain storm since april.) (also build is 35x35, towers are 20 blocks tall.) 2

I highly recommend just using the world edit tool to copy/paste the structure to a new location. That's one of the reason that such a tool exists and moving structures manually block-by-block is a logistical nightmare. If it feels too "cheaty" though you can always use world edit to delete the original structure once you've got everything moved. 1
OBAMFSpike Posted Monday at 11:19 PM Report Posted Monday at 11:19 PM Hi and welcome Copy Paste Its your world anyways
Shoom Posted Tuesday at 10:06 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 10:06 AM Personally I would build a new base and just leave the old one behind, I'm thinking about doing that myself, that way I can make the new one slightly better since my old one has some fundamental flaws that would require the whole thing to be rebuilt anyways (some rooms are too small, layouts not ideal, etc) and it might also be fun to return some day. I'm one of those players who enjoys the slow logistical challenge of things like this, building new mines and quarries and such to facilitate builds, etc. It all depends on how you want to play and what you find the most enjoyment in.
HalfAxd Posted Tuesday at 04:24 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 04:24 PM It's your game... do what makes you feel comfortable Personally, moving it block by block would not be fun. I might take just the important materials and leave behind a cool ruin...
Maelstrom Posted yesterday at 01:50 PM Report Posted yesterday at 01:50 PM You're actually considering deconstructing the build in survival??? Since you asked the question, it doesn't seem like you are strict on "cheating". So I've gotta ask: You are actually, really CONTEMPLATING moving that build in survival??? If so I hope you have steel tools. And lots of spare time. Lots and lots of time!
