tripodalt Posted Friday at 03:48 PM Report Posted Friday at 03:48 PM (edited) duno if i triggered something by crafting a clay pot or its just a pest event in my brain but its become more hard since few minutes. not only i spawn in a dark red psychadelic state constanly loosing health as when i once eated mushrooms . but half of the time im on a pit without stairs and the other half their is a monster that shoot at me. after a dozen of atempt i reached the safety of a swamp(hopefully the fish are rares.)but had the bad idea to move out of water for gathering logs. LadyWYT Posted Friday at 04:09 PM Report Posted Friday at 04:09 PM 16 minutes ago, tripodalt said: duno if i triggered something Look at the gear on your hotbar; that is your stability meter. Normally it's teal, but when it's gray like this that means your temporal stability is entirely drained. When this happens, temporal storm effects are triggered, monsters will spawn nearby, and your health will drain until you recover enough stability to keep such effects at bay. The only way to restore temporal stability is to spend time in a stable area, sacrifice a temporal gear and some health, or kill tougher monsters. To determine an area's stability, take note of which way the gear is spinning. If it spins clockwise, the area is stable and the meter will refill. If the gear isn't spinning, the area is either neutral, or it's stable but your meter is at 100%, in which case it won't spin. If the gear is spinning counterclockwise, then the area is unstable and you should keep an eye on the meter so you can leave before it drops too low(around the 30-40% mark is where you need to start being concerned).
williams_482 Posted Friday at 05:14 PM Report Posted Friday at 05:14 PM Judging by your chat log, you were probably in a slightly low temporal stability area, then a temporal storm (apparently a very early one, given your limited equipment) swept through and tanked your stability. Because your current location happens to be unstable your temporal stability kept getting worse until it bottomed out, and never improved. The solution is to just run in whatever direction until that gear in the UI starts turning clockwise, and then everything will eventually return to normal. How you as a new player are supposed to know that, I'm not sure. 1 1
tripodalt Posted Friday at 06:25 PM Author Report Posted Friday at 06:25 PM i have a house with my first clay pot cooking and my 3 storage basket some dozen of firewood also had many item i lost in the process . duno if loose item despawn . but considering the large amount of corpse i made in the area i guess its quick. maybe only the last one and even without the basket inventory. i wonder how can i carry all the stuff by fleeing away or if i have to be nomad and abandon all clay work all the time. i diyed a dozen of time and my first clay is not finished. i made the food storage because i dont know what the other are for .(excepted the ore melters but i had only 2 cooper.)

Loose items will despawn after a few minutes, at least, if the chunks are still loaded. Logging out causes them to despawn immediately, to my knowledge. 2 hours ago, tripodalt said: i wonder how can i carry all the stuff by fleeing away or if i have to be nomad and abandon all clay work all the time. i diyed a dozen of time and my first clay is not finished. Turning the keepinventory rule on can help with the item loss, but until you return to a more stable area and recover your stability, or otherwise turn stability mechanics off, death is still going to be a problem. Respawning doesn't restore stability, to my knowledge.

tripodalt Posted Friday at 09:25 PM Author Report Posted Friday at 09:25 PM i see the wheel is reducing again like 70% but i dont know what trigger it . is it like 7day to hell : related to my activity craft and build ?
LadyWYT Posted Friday at 09:41 PM Report Posted Friday at 09:41 PM 14 minutes ago, tripodalt said: is it like 7day to hell : related to my activity craft and build ? No. You lose stability by experiencing temporal storms, standing too close to rifts, or otherwise hanging out in unstable areas. The latter is most likely. If the gear is turning counterclockwise, the area is unstable and the color will continue to drain from the gear, until monsters start spawning nearby and your health drains. If the gear is turning clockwise, the area is stable and a good spot to potentially settle down or otherwise hang around in if you need to recover stability.
tripodalt Posted Friday at 11:41 PM Author Report Posted Friday at 11:41 PM RIFT STORM UNSTABLE : WHAT IS IT ? it happend again in the same area where i made a dirt house and finally colected food by fishing. is fishing triggered something ? is it me or the world ?

The area you built in is unstable, which means your temporal stability will drain while you're in that area. When your stability drops low enough, monsters will start to spawn nearby, temporal storm effects will occur, and you will start to lose health unless you do something to recover your stability. This generally means finding a stable area to hang out in; if you built your base in an unstable area, you'll want to either relocate or start a new world and be more careful where you choose to settle down. Temporal storms are different--they occur semi-frequently, cannot be stopped, and will drain your stability and spawn monsters nearby regardless of chunk conditions. Temporal storms and temporal stability can be toggled on/off independently of each other either in the settings at world creation, or by using the appropriate commands after world creation and reloading the world. You can read more on such here, and the handbook contains information related to the mechanics as well: https://wiki.vintagestory.at/Temporal_stability 1
tripodalt Posted Saturday at 07:11 AM Author Report Posted Saturday at 07:11 AM how you deteromined its stability and not storm ? you listed me the same effects.
LadyWYT Posted Saturday at 04:33 PM Report Posted Saturday at 04:33 PM 9 hours ago, tripodalt said: how you deteromined its stability and not storm ? you listed me the same effects. Look at the gear in the middle of your hotbar. It should be a blue/teal color. If the gear is gray/mostly gray, that means you have no temporal stability left, which will trigger the same effects as a temporal storm in addition to draining your health. To restore stability, you need to kill some monsters(the tougher the better), sacrifice a temporal gear and some health, or spend time in a stable area to recover. You can tell if an area is stable or not by the way the gear spins; spinning to the right is stable, while spinning to the left is unstable. Temporal storms can occur regardless of what color that gear is, will always drain stability and spawn monsters regardless of local conditions, and will always be announced by a couple of warnings in the chat box before they occur. They also only last a few in-game hours, and their end is signaled by a message in the chat box, so as long as you have enough stability remaining the temporal storm effects will clear up once the storm is over.
tripodalt Posted Saturday at 08:14 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 08:14 PM so for resume stability drain the heal when storm dont ? i seen that thing in the area i guess its related but storm or temporal ? is both storm and stability show a distorded view in dark red colors ?
LadyWYT Posted Saturday at 09:06 PM Report Posted Saturday at 09:06 PM 48 minutes ago, tripodalt said: so for resume stability drain the heal when storm dont ? If your temporal stability drops too low, your health will drain and cause temporal storm effects regardless of whether a temporal storm is actually taking place. To keep this from happening, you need to recover your temporal stability by using one of the methods listed earlier. 49 minutes ago, tripodalt said: i seen that thing in the area i guess its related but storm or temporal ? That's a temporal rift. They appear and disappear depending on the current rift activity--you can check rift activity by pressing C to open your character information panel. Standing too close to a rift will drain your stability and cause these effects; moving away from the rift should return things to normal unless too much stability has drained. 50 minutes ago, tripodalt said: is both storm and stability show a distorded view in dark red colors ? A temporal storm will always produce this kind of distortion, as will standing too close to a rift. These effects will also occur if your temporal stability drops too low, but in this case, the gear in the middle of your hotbar will also be gray.
tripodalt Posted Sunday at 12:07 PM Author Report Posted Sunday at 12:07 PM so the stability is personnal and not environemental ? it a mental health gauge and the player will not endure the same effects ? so their is temporal and rift and stability and storm and since its not the bare basic without handholding of the game its not mentionned in the handbook ? so in a storm the gear may not be grey ? is the noramla wind and rain have something related to those storms ?
Demoncyborg Posted Sunday at 02:05 PM Report Posted Sunday at 02:05 PM the terms can definitely be confusing to a new player, hopefully this little breakdown can help, feel free to keep asking if you're confused though! The gear, aka your Temporal stability: your personal gauge/resource meter for your temporal stability. when it goes low, you'll get some visual distortion and enemies spawning, and it'll slowly kill you when it runs close to empty Rift activity: not related to weather, but acts similarly random to it. Rift activity shows the likelihood of those random portals opening, and you can find it near the weather things in C menu. more portals usually = more enemies Temporally Unstable Areas/Temporally stable areas: not related to biomes, but similarly random like it, patches of the world are "stable" and "unstable" permanently, causing your gear to spin down, or not recover. Sometimes it's the opposite though, and you will recover faster in some areas. The only way to know if an area is stable or unstable without commands is using your gear to watch if it ends up draining. Temporal Storm: once again unrelated to weather, but every few weeks an in-game chat message will appear and warn you about an incoming storm. these are events where your gear spins no matter where you are, visuals are distorted by default, and enemies can spawn just about anywhere. this stuff can overlap pretty heavily if you aren't careful, so always be mindful of what your gears doing. some notes: deep underground is normally always temporally unstable you have to be in a stable area to naturally recover your stability standing in a temporal rift/freaky red portal will lower your stability rapidly and also distort visuals the rift activity has nothing to do with the temporal stability of an area, and vice versa the rift activity has nothing to do with temporal storms either, but it will make them feel a lot stronger if it's high activity, since more enemies will spawn. 1
