Spooky season is here, and it's time to show off your creativity! To celebrate Halloween, we're hosting a Pumpkin Carving Contest, and everyone is invited to participate! Whether you're going for something spooky, silly, cute, or downright terrifying, we want to see what you can create! How to Enter Carve your very own pumpkin in Vintage Story. Take a screenshot of your finished masterpiece. Share your creation in the replies to this thread! Contest Rules It MUST be a carved pumpkin! No disguising other blocks or building pumpkin-shaped structures. We want to see actual carved pumpkins! (Adding additional material to pumpkins is welcome!) Get creative! Your design can be spooky, funny, detailed, or anything your imagination comes up with. Have fun and enjoy seeing what the community creates! A Little Halloween Treat! Did you know that throughout October, you can get the Creative Glow effect in Survival Mode too? That means Survival players can join in on the glowing pumpkin fun without needing to switch to Creative Mode! So whether you're playing Survival or Creative, there's no excuse not to get carving! Contest Deadline & Voting Submissions Close: October 31st — Halloween! On Halloween, we'll put the submitted pumpkins up for a community vote to decide which carving deserves to be crowned the winner! The community will choose the ultimate Pumpkin Carving Champion! During the month of October if you chisel a pumpkin the creative glow block is automatically added to the pumpkin. So all you’ll need is a pumpkin and a chisel! Please let me know if this helps!

First time growing pumpkins! Very cool to have a glowing material to chisel with in survival. Edit: I really love the background and atmosphere @Decorem and @Cy9miner have chosen for their screenshots. I didn't have time last session to set up a good shot, but I'm very inspired to reshoot with a better background if I get the chance before the month ends. IRL month or in-game month? I'm assuming IRL. And does the glow block persist after October has ended? Didn't know it was even a thing, but if the glow is persistent I can think of several uses for it.

I believe it persists; I've seen YouTuber Kurazarrh do some very cool stuff with them before October started, so I guessed they were from a previous year. Edited October 23 by DarkGold Elaborated 2

I have yet to try it outside of October, I’m sure you could go offline and change your computer’s date to trick the game into letting you do it whenever. I did not test this but most games work that way.
