  1. I thought you said treats
  2. Ah, I see. Having checked the wiki, there is definitely no effect on the cellar due to altitude aside from the effect from the outside temperature.
  3. I think the issue you’re facing with your cellar is that you have too many doors. Doors don’t count as insulating blocks for cellars; you should have as few entrances as possible, ideally no actual doors, and the cellar should be built from dirt or stone; wood has a lower insulation value. Also, I don’t think there’s a debuff for altitude; a cellar on a mountaintop might even be better than one elsewhere, as there’s a spoilage benefit from low temperatures too.
  4. Actually, given what you said, a display mat would be a pretty cool way of running a shop or something, and it’d fix this problem. I won’t even charge royalties if you put that idea in the suggestions forum!
  5. Cool article! The only problem is that the worldgen would have to change in weird ways; I think it’d work better if the “planet” was toroidal, as seen here.
  6. Couldn’t you use a display case? If not, I’d put in a bug report, it seems like a good idea.
  7. *extremely loud incorrect buzzer* If you’re not liking homo sapiens, try disabling lore content, temp. stability, and temporal storms in the game setup. Wilderness and Homo Sapiens are the hardest presets.
  8. This is already a feature, I’m pretty sure.
  9. @Professor Dragon, some hats actually have better rain protection than others, and from what I’ve seen, the large cone hat is the best in the game.
  10. Basket hat!
  11. I don’t shovel a lot of snow at my base; just enough to keep the doors clear and keep the chicken run clear, so I just use my bare hands. It’s pretty fast, but as a person from the southeast, I can’t say how much you would do this IRL.
  12. This exists with the rawhide set, and if you’ve got fat, you can add the fur set on top. that actually plays pretty well with progression, given querns are gated behind a metal chisel. Of course, then the mortar and pestle would have to be restricted, probably to just grain, so that the quern has a use before mechanical power.
  13. He’s at it again…
  14. Haven’t seen anyone call him anything but Dave… this caught me off guard.
  15. Doesn’t / work to open the chatbox with a slash?
  16. It probably isn’t a real river, just a long noodle lake.
  17. They don’t even have a texture? Wolf pups have a barrel texture, for crying out loud!
  18. Any game that you pay for is paying to keep the developer(s) alive. The developer(s) then continues to develop games, as they are alive and that’s what they do when they’re alive. Developers also sometimes make multiple games at once, which is just something they do. If you don’t want to feed the game developers, okay, but if you’re feeding them, they’ll make games… plural.
  19. I have seen single monsters spawn with lore disabled, but I have no clue why.
  20. Well, yes, but everything placeable in game is already a voxel of some kind.
  21. That’s all. Please continue with your day.
  22. Lag city’s that way. Nevermind what I said here, I just heard “half meter resolution” and scrolled past.

    Acne

Lately, I’ve been hearing how much people want acne added to the game (I haven’t). I think this feature could really flesh out the game in ways that cannot be explained with the English language. Acne would be caused by excessive consumption of red meat and cheese, and it would cause mild discomfort and strange looks from traders. Acne could be cured by consuming liver meat, which could be harvested from bears and other large animals. Excessive consumption of liver reduces the gamma of your screen while in darkness, simulating night blindness caused by vitamin A.
  24. Here’s the thing: [insert image of Ben Grimm] Uhhh… I mean, you can use hammers to select a specific type of roof with oneroof.
  25. …I hope you meant thread of conversation, and not topic.
