How do I make rice ale or fine rice ale ? it's not at all clear and makes no sense in the handbook.

I build a cellar underneath my kitchen and it's perfectly lined on all sides with solid granite rock. With no light source in the room it's still very very bright during the day. Looking at the unreliable wiki there is a mention of skylight? So.. How deep do I need to build my cellar, or how many layers of rock under my kitchen floor do I need to go before i don't get daylight creeping in? Also, whilst we are at it.. if the ambient temperature is 5 degrees or less then whats the rate of preservation i can expect in a storage vessel in a perfect cellar. Mine seems to vary somewhere between about 0.12x and 0.2x depending on conditions

Im having the same issue here.. I dug out a room underneath my kitchen. lined it with granite stone.. during the day it is as bright as outside in the room and it's performing badly as a cellar.. -

Is there a way to flip the game to creative mode, or using a /wgen command or something similar to spawn in a particular type of trader? I am playing with a mod that adds a Sommelier Trader so I can sell all the booze I make (and hence give me some reward other than getting drunk in game) - but relying on the RNG gods to spawn one anywhere near my base is rather problematic.

No bugs to report, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the devs and supporters on this mod. I absolutely love it and it expands the fun and immersion in the game a hundred fold.. Your efforts are appreciated.

SubtleOrc started following Using DB Prune to regenerate chunks near my home.

I have added a few mods to the game that only seem to take affect on newly generated chunks. I read in a previous thread that you can do this Is this something I could do to regenerate chunks that I have not modified any blocks in, and would that in effect be the same as exploring newly generated chunks? The mods in question are to add new kind of traders and I would like them to appear not TOO far away from home. (obviously i would take a backup first yadda yadda)

I'd like to second the comment about wolves competely destroying herbivore populations, if you don't take care of them. In any ecosystem, if the predators get too numerous, they die of starvation until the prey numbers recover. Prey numbers never seem to recover in this game. Wolves / Bears / Bowtorns etc go from nightmare menace to an inconvenience once you get Gambeson Armour. Its just a facet of the game

For me, Steel is a multiplayer group exercise. The grind is simply not worth the benefits in single player. I'm happy with my iron tools
