rumor has it, with hammer and chisel, that lava source can be obtained (if it works, you didn't hear it from me)
-
oddly I do too! ain't it amazing  and per chance a misstep, why that just gives a further opportunity to gaining even further best luck can't understand how it would be any other way....

welcome to the forum my understanding is that its kinda in the game already, done with support beams and I wished i'd known this when i last played on a server that enabled cave-ins.. ref:wiki support beams

welcome to the forum don't know what the issue might be exactly(?) try redownloading and/or the antivirus thing is getting in the way giving a message "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.More info" in which case click on more info that gives the option to run anyways

Not hard as in needing brain powered solving ability. More like hard in being on the grindy side perhaps? need to make fireclay (a process) to then craft fireclay bricks (bloomery) and refractory bricks. pit kiln time... then crafting iron into door(s), anvil, pounding caps.. windmill helps, so all the bits that go into making that... fuel accumulation be it brown, black coal and/or charcoal... sourcing the refractory ingredients (fireclay, Bauxite, Quartz, optional Olivine, Ilmenite) did i miss something? anyways, it can be a bit time consuming, and fuel consuming.. and of course housing all the parts into a building that might be chiseled upon, more time but yeah, after (my) mini iron/steel works has been built and housed in a nice building, piece of cake! [edit] borax... anyone see where I placed that, i don't need much [edit]

How to make non- slanted roofs with shingles?
idiomcritter replied to ToothedMammal's topic in Questions
if only shingles could be chiseled? though not exactly desirable looking, top/cap shingles kinda of work on a flat roof(?) (maybe not so much idk) a number of mods pop up on the shingle search, maybe? -
welcome to the forum kinda of confused a bit, is the desired effect to maybe better prop up the item in the display case? or is it a better base to the display case?
-
welcome to the forum Are you running any mods? i've seen comments on things disappearing from inventory having to do with the certain mods not that this is your issue, rain will extinguish the fire if no blocks are directly above the forge(?)

Iron hatch door not 'trap' door didn't even know iron trap door was a thing until your post, so thanks. check the crafting on 'hatch' door, should fix

funny. to board a raft requires right clicking. mobs don't have thumbs err mouse clickers better to build a bear/wolf pit

welcome to the forum @JessieImproved which slab? putting the slab into the crafting grid, you can force the placement to horizontal vs vertical... aiming the slab centered to the block between the top 8 pixels, should do it :puzzled:
-
welcome to the forum @JavaChop think a hint can be gained from looking at the client-main.log file. do a search on 'server', should show some further infos on connecting. if it was a prior day, or proir start of the game, the log file might then be under the archive sub directory gl

an observation having played 30day months, winter is extended too. my own solution is to move down south, somewhere closer to the tropics. hang out north during the summer, and south for the winter

welcome to the forum. I don't see a question in your post, so have nothing to offer as an answer? I'm curious though, why post here? who's/which server were you playing on?

the traders also seem to occur diagonally, when looking at the map, a diagonal pattern will appear (north south) separated roughly by 500 blocks +/-

sadly that game mechanic isn't implemented (yet)

so my elk is dying and I'm not sure if i can save it (glitch?)
idiomcritter replied to queerginger55's topic in Questions
so what was working for me was to hold the cntrl key while also holding the right clicking the mouse button until the elk stood. -
would be nice to see a snapshot of the pen/fencing.. things to consider... at least 2 blocks outside the fence around should be cleared so no leg up's can happen. snow will elevate, so that could be an issue. while a fence done proper will prevent a bear from climbing over, they still have that 1-2 block reach over the fence to paw at the livestock, a 2nd fence 2 blocks out can distance the bear from the pen. not sure lighting helps unless the pen has a roof, preventing sunlight, in which case you absolute need brighter lighting than 1 oil lamp. but thats more to prevent despawning of the rams. speaking of roofs, it would be good if no roof exists, to place a lightening rod at a certain height above the pen. rams might be able to take a lightening strike, but chickens won't..

Guide: Multiple Parallel Installations of Vintage Story

running under windows, its possible to to run 2 VS clients (2 different accounts) under 2 different windows login accounts. windows can swap between the 2 accounts without closing/signing off either. not aware of how both accounts could be displayed at the same time though. so while viewing/playing the 1st account, things could be occurring on the live 2nd account that could need quick attention -
I've yet to build the sailboat... so your question has me looking up the info's to give it a try myself... looking at the wiki:here not sure if that helps, gonna wander off and test

spam the anti curse tourches and welcome to the forums

the game doesn't test if the (trap)door is open or closed. what i've done, is select a single block in the roof, and poke a hole to the sky. I'll plug the hole with a hay bale when the greenhouse effect is needed again. and welcome to the forum

11 blocks distance is needed, between the player and the chickens. setting the hen house a distance away, preferably in a spot where the player only passes by to fill the troughs
